From 70d201c6a0bea7c65ce065238a62dd6098639747 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Cursor Agent Date: Thu, 20 Aug 2026 11:23:03 +0000 Subject: [PATCH 01/20] Add replay-triggered reconciliation for delivery_uncertain When an idempotency replay finds a dispatched or terminal MCP dispatch attempt that hasn't yet been finalized by the reconciler, immediately reconcile it before returning in-progress error. This prevents the scenario where: 1. First call crashes after mark_dispatched() but before idem.complete() 2. Retry with same key gets indefinite IdempotencyInProgressError 3. Caller might abandon and retry with different key, causing redispatch The fix ensures replay of a delivery_uncertain outcome: - Never causes a second gateway dispatch - Never causes a second ledger debit - Returns the signed receipt immediately via on-demand reconciliation This implements the economic-loop requirement from WEDGE.md: 'a genuinely ambiguous post-dispatch outcome becomes a distinct receipted state rather than a silent redispatch' with the invariant that 'replay of the same idempotency key must not cause a second gateway dispatch or a second ledger debit.' Changes: - app/services/idempotency.py: Add _try_reconcile_and_replay() method that checks for dispatch attempts and reconciles them immediately before falling back to wait or raising in-progress error - tests/test_delivery_uncertain_replay.py: Two new tests: 1. Replay after dispatched triggers immediate reconciliation 2. Delivery uncertain replay never redispatches (economic invariant) Co-authored-by: Christopher --- app/services/idempotency.py | 101 ++++++-- tests/test_delivery_uncertain_replay.py | 297 ++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2 files changed, 383 insertions(+), 15 deletions(-) create mode 100644 tests/test_delivery_uncertain_replay.py diff --git a/app/services/idempotency.py b/app/services/idempotency.py index 9db6671c..90a95640 100644 --- a/app/services/idempotency.py +++ b/app/services/idempotency.py @@ -84,6 +84,78 @@ def _replay_from_record( class IdempotencyService: + async def _try_reconcile_and_replay( + self, + session: AsyncSession, + *, + existing: IdempotencyRecordModel, + request_hash: str, + wallet_id: str, + endpoint: str, + idempotency_key: str, + wait_timeout_seconds: float, + poll_interval_seconds: float, + ) -> IdempotencyReplay: + """Try immediate reconciliation for dispatched/terminal attempts before wait.""" + # Check if there's a dispatch attempt linked to this idempotency record + # that is either dispatched (ambiguous) or terminal but not finalized. + dispatch_attempt = ( + await session.execute( + select(McpDispatchAttemptModel).where( + cast( + ColumnElement[bool], + McpDispatchAttemptModel.idempotency_record_id + == existing.record_id, + ) + ) + ) + ).scalar_one_or_none() + + if dispatch_attempt is not None: + # Import here to avoid circular dependency + from app.services.mcp_dispatch_reconciliation import ( + get_mcp_dispatch_reconciliation_service, + ) + + reconciler = get_mcp_dispatch_reconciliation_service() + # Reconcile this specific attempt immediately + try: + await reconciler.reconcile_attempt(dispatch_attempt.attempt_id) + except Exception: + # Reconciliation failed;
