Timer

Card type custom:houseview-timer-card, or type: timer in the cards list of custom:houseview-card. Available since 1.0.

A kitchen timer for a timer.* entity: the countdown, four preset buttons (5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes), pause or resume, cancel, and a Custom button that opens on long press the more-info dialog, where Home Assistant offers any duration.

  • A preset calls timer.start with duration in seconds. When the timer is already running or paused, the widget asks "Replace the running kitchen timer?" first (confirm_mode: inline shows the question inside the card).
  • Pause calls timer.pause, resume calls timer.start without a duration (the remaining time is kept), cancel calls timer.cancel. Pause, resume and cancel are disabled unless the timer is active or paused.
  • The countdown reads finishes_at while the timer is active and remaining while it is paused. It shows Ready when idle and Unavailable when the entity is missing.
  • Alarm. When an active timer goes idle within 10 seconds of its finishes_at, the card shows a banner ("Kitchen timer finished · Tap to dismiss") and plays six short beeps. Browsers only allow sound after a touch, so the audio is unlocked by the first tap on the card; until then the banner is silent. The audio context is closed when the card is removed from the page. A timer that is cancelled early does not ring.
  • Timer display. While the timer runs, the timer display overview takes the whole screen. Turn it off with timer_display: false on the card.
