go-socket.io is actively maintained again I'm working on [go-socket.io](https://github.com/sshaplygin/go-socket.io), a Socket.IO implementation in Go. The current version supports Socket.IO 1.x/2.x, including a Go server and an experimental client. Next up is support for Socket.IO 3.x/4.x, a redesigned typed API, and better compatibility testing against the Node.js implementation. The long-term goal is a solid Go alternative to Node.js Socket.IO, for both servers and clients. Feedback, issues, and contributions are welcome! |

Hey team,
So basically, I was working on a project, where i wanted two clients to talk through a middleware socket server.
So, I went ahead and looked out if there's any golang implementation for socket.io client, but then after trying a lot of unofficial clients out, no one was stable enough to be used in production.
Proposal:
I'm proposing that maybe a new official stable client can be developed for golang and I'll be contributing to it a lot if that ever happens. Heck I can even lead the thing, if that works with you guys.
Thanks for considering my idea! Looking forward to your thoughts.
