Via an argument let the user preserve 1 out of N versions (e.g. 100 means keep every 100th version)

Out of curiosity, what is the use case?

Also, as opposed to most of other deletion policies, this one is not idempotent - if we run it many times on the same object path within the same time interval, we delete more and more. Just to confirm, is this expected behaviour?

  1. It was to downscale the records but not delete everything, e.g. for AI purpose.
  2. Yes, indeed, it is not idempotent. It is the expected behaviour and I am not sure how this would actually be idempotent without keeping a database of what has been deleted in the past. The difference with other deletion policies is that we are not anchoring on a run or time. Perhaps I can add a note in the description of the option?
