A dark terminal theme with a deep navy background, bright accents, and a mint green cursor.
One theme file for Ghostty and Rex Beta.
Inspired by the Codely Design System.
Screenshots use the demo folder included in this repository. Icons come from eza and a Nerd Font; the theme supplies the terminal colors. File colors also depend on eza and your shell color settings. App chrome and transparency depend on your terminal preferences.
Download the Codely theme file, or clone this repository:
git clone https://github.com/CodelyTV/terminal-theme.git
cd terminal-themeCopy the theme into Ghostty's user themes directory. Run this from the repository root:
mkdir -p "${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-$HOME/.config}/ghostty/themes"
cp themes/Codely "${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-$HOME/.config}/ghostty/themes/Codely"Add this line to your Ghostty configuration:
theme = CodelyRemove any existing background, foreground, cursor-color, selection-background, selection-foreground, and palette settings that would override the theme. The theme also sets bold-is-bright = true.
On macOS, the configuration is commonly at ~/Library/Application Support/com.mitchellh.ghostty/config. Ghostty also supports the XDG configuration directory. Reload with Cmd+Shift+, on macOS, or use Reload Configuration in the menu.
You can also reference the theme with an absolute path:
theme = /absolute/path/to/terminal-theme/themes/CodelySee Ghostty's theme documentation.
- Open Rex Beta > Settings > Themes.
- Under Import Theme, click Import.
- Select
themes/Codelyfrom this repository. - Select Codely under Dark Mode.
Rex imports Ghostty and iTerm theme files and matches the appearance from the background color. These steps were checked in Rex Beta 0.1.0, build 1203. Rex's interface can evolve during the beta.
Install eza and use a Nerd Font in your terminal. To match the original Ghostty configuration, select DankMono Nerd Font, which must be installed separately. No font is bundled with this theme.
On macOS, eza can be installed with Homebrew:
brew install ezaRun the preview from the repository root:
./scripts/preview.shOr inspect the demo directory directly. If you use the Codely dotfiles, the la alias already runs eza -la --icons --group-directories-first:
cd demo
laWithout that alias, use the equivalent command:
eza -la --icons=always --color=always --group-directories-firstThe demo includes source code, tests, package metadata, configuration files, an executable, a symbolic link, and an SVG. package-lock.json is the standard npm lockfile name. macOS's built-in ls -la does not render file icons.
For a tree view, run eza --tree --all --icons=always --color=always demo.
The preview also displays all 16 ANSI colors. It does not install packages or run the demo app.
