fix(web): versus and deals offer a persona only with a scored criterion - #1557
No product has a criterion score yet (#1143). Versus and deals still offered their persona suggestions. The scoring already skips null criteria, so every persona ranked exactly like the default. The versus verdict still named the persona's weights, which misled.
What changes
Same rule as the leaderboard in #1554, and no new text.
Versus (VersusInteractiveScoreboard.tsx):
A use-case preset shows only when both models have a real score for the criterion it weighs most (versusAvailablePersonas).
With no criterion scored on both sides, the presets and the "Tùy chỉnh trọng số" toggle are hidden.
The sliders list only the criteria both sides have.
The result, verdict and exports read the active preset. That falls back to the default if a preset is no longer offered.
Deals (DealFinderWorkspace.tsx):
A persona shows only when some product in the category has a real score for its criterion (availableDealPersonas).
With only the default left, the pill group is hidden and the ranking uses the default persona.
The scoring itself is unchanged: lean already kept the combined score where a criterion is null.
Tests
core-rate-architecture.test.ts: availableDealPersonas (no data, a camera score, a category filter) and versusAvailablePersonas.
E2E: the seed has no criterion scores, the same as production today. So:
pill-group-state: the compare presets and the deals persona group drop out of the pressed-state list. A new test checks that versus and deals show no persona group or weights toggle.
deals-paging: a budget step, not a persona click, restarts paging.
light-theme-controls: the weights-toggle contrast check is removed, since the toggle is not shown. The other scoreboard controls are still measured.
pnpm test, tsc and eslint pass locally. E2E runs in CI.
Review
One fresh-context Claude review: no blocking finding. Codex skipped (quota).
This PR implements a conditional rendering logic for persona presets and custom weight sliders in the "Deals" and "Compare" (Versus) views, ensuring these controls are only displayed when products have actual criterion scores that would differentiate the rankings (referencing #1556). It also updates E2E tests to reflect the new UI behavior where these controls are hidden when no scored criteria exist.

Summary of Changes
apps/web/e2e/deals-paging.spec.ts
Updated E2E test to interact with the budget slider (keyboard arrow) instead of a persona button, as persona buttons may no longer be present.
apps/web/e2e/light-theme-controls.spec.ts
Removed assertions for the "custom-weights" button visibility and contrast, as this control is now conditionally hidden when no criterion scores exist.
apps/web/e2e/pill-group-state.spec.ts
Updated tests to verify that persona groups and custom weight toggles are absent (count 0) on /compare and /deals pages when no products have criterion scores.
Added versusAvailablePersonas helper to filter presets based on shared scored criteria. Modified the component to conditionally render the persona strip and sliders only when canWeigh is true (i.e., shared criteria exist).
Added availableDealPersonas helper to determine which personas are relevant based on product scores. Modified the component to hide the persona pill group entirely if only the "default" persona is available.
Added unit tests for availableDealPersonas and versusAvailablePersonas to verify correct filtering logic based on product criteria scores.

New Features
Deal Finder now shows scoring personas only when products in the selected category have relevant scores. The default ranking remains available and is used if a selected persona is no longer applicable.
Device comparisons now offer scoring presets and sliders only for criteria scored by both devices. Results, verdicts, and exports reflect the available scoring options.
#1556: with no criterion scores yet, every persona on versus and
deals ranked exactly like the default while still being offered, and the
verdict named the persona's weights.
- Versus shows a use-case preset only when both models have a real score
for the criterion it weighs most; with no criterion scored on both
sides, the presets and the custom weights are not shown, and the
sliders list only the criteria both sides have.
- Deals shows a persona only when some product in the category has a
real score for its criterion; with only the default left the pills are
hidden and the ranking uses the default.
- Scoring already skipped null criteria (#1143); no new text.

Explanation
Issue #1556 has coding requirements. versusAvailablePersonas returns no use-case presets without shared real criteria and filters each preset by its lead criterion. The versus component derives activePersona and activeWeights, falls back to default, limits sliders to shared criteria, and uses the effective values for results, verdicts, and exports. availableDealPersonas checks real criterion scores for products in the selected category. The deals component hides the persona group when only default remains and falls back to the default ranking. rankProductsForDealFinder keeps the combined score when the lean criterion is null. The supplied tests cover no-data and scored-criterion cases for both pages. The available source evidence and PR summary support the requested behavior.

Normalize displayed and exported weights over the shared criteria.
663-665: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Normalize displayed and exported weights over the shared criteria.
The score uses only criteria that both models have a real score for. It divides by the sum of those criteria's weights. The criteria rows, the CSV weight column, the JSON weights field, the criteriaBreakdownweightPercent values, and the comparison row labels still show the active preset's raw percentage for every criterion.
For a camera-only shared pair with the Photography preset selected, the displayed percentages for screen, performance, battery, and value do not change the score. No slider controls them.
Filtering the displayed rows to sharedCriteria leaves raw preset values for the shared criteria. Those values do not match their effective share of the score. Compute the displayed weights normalized over sharedCriteria, and use that map for the rows, CSV, JSON, breakdown, and comparison label.
Note: this behaviour predates this PR (already present at merge base 781e4a014579); the change keeps it reachable.

Normalize the active preset weights across sharedCriteria, using only criteria
with real scores from both models, and use the resulting effective-weight map

the score calculation aligned with those normalized weights.
Cover the persona paging reset with a separate scored fixture.
Cover the persona paging reset with a separate scored fixture.
This PR removes the only persona-change step in apps/web/e2e/deals-paging.spec.ts. The budget and search steps still reset paging. A regression that drops persona from the paging filter key would still pass.
The persona group renders only when some product has a real criterion score. The shared seed has no scored products. apps/web/e2e/pill-group-state.spec.ts asserts that #rate-deal-personas has zero matches on /deals. Scored rows in apps/web/e2e/seed.sql would break that assertion. They would also break the no-score assertions in selector-state.spec.ts and light-theme-controls.spec.ts. Keep scored data out of the shared seed.
Add the persona-change check to a separate spec. Run it under its own Playwright config and seed, as apps/web/e2e/item-model/ does, so its scored rows do not change the data that other specs read:
test('a persona change starts again from the first page',async({ page })=>{awaitpage.goto('/deals');constcards=page.locator('#rate-ranked-deals > div');awaitexpect(cards).toHaveCount(12);constmore=page.locator('button[aria-controls="rate-ranked-deals"]');awaitexpect(async()=>{if((awaitcards.count())===12)awaitmore.click();awaitexpect(cards).toHaveCount(24,{timeout: 500});}).toPass();awaitpage.locator('#rate-deal-personas button[aria-pressed="false"]').first().click();awaitexpect(cards).toHaveCount(12);});

Review comment at @apps/web/e2e/deals-paging.spec.ts around lines 22 - 25:
Keep the existing budget paging-reset check in the deals paging spec, and add a
separate persona paging-reset test using scored product data. Run that test with
its own Playwright config and seed, following the isolated setup used by the
item-model tests, so the shared seed and no-score assertions remain unchanged.
Add E2E coverage for the scored versus custom-weight slider.
Add E2E coverage for the scored versus custom-weight slider.
The replacement test at apps/web/e2e/pill-group-state.spec.ts:63-73 asserts that the custom-weights toggle and the persona group are absent for the unscored comparison. The removed version opened the toggle, focused input[type="range"], pressed ArrowRight, and asserted that the toggle's accessible name changed to Trọng số tùy chỉnh. No other E2E spec opens that toggle or drives a versus slider. A regression in the scored slider path would therefore not fail an E2E test.
Covering this path requires a fixture in which both products share a criterion score. The current E2E comments state that no seeded product has one.

Extend the E2E coverage in the pill-group state spec with a fixture where both
compared products share a criterion score, then exercise the scored comparison’s
custom-weight toggle by focusing its range input and pressing ArrowRight; verify
the toggle’s accessible name changes to “Trọng số tùy chỉnh.” Keep the existing
unscored-comparison assertions intact.
