Model Description

This project provides a modular electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation model of data center loads supplied by a centralized uninterruptible power supply (UPS). It is intended for power system studies of control interactions among power electronic modules and dynamic interactions between the data center and the grid.


Submission Terms & "How It Works"

  • Review Process: EMT Tools reviews submissions in the order they are received on a volunteer basis. Submissions not meeting requirements may be returned for revision.
  • Credit: Original authors are credited on the EMT Tools download section and within the main PSCAD case.
  • Support: Technical questions regarding the model may be directed to the original author using the provided contact info.
  • Anonymous Submissions: If you wish to submit anonymously, please contact EMT Tools directly before submitting this package.

Author Agreement & Technical Checklist

By placing an 'x' in the boxes below, you confirm that your submission meets all requirements and you agree to the submission terms.

  • Licensing: I agree to distribute the submitted material under the MIT License, and I confirm I have the right to distribute all included material.
  • PSCAD Version: This model was created using PSCAD v5.1 or newer, or the PSCAD Free Edition. (PSCADv5.0 is used.)
  • Technical Relevance: This submission demonstrates a concept relevant to power systems (e.g., modelling, automation, custom components, EMTDC programming, verification, or educational examples).
  • External Resources: This submission does not depend on proprietary or closed-source external compiled resources (e.g., .lib, .obj, .dll). All required external source code is included.
  • Compilation & Runtime: The model compiles and runs successfully with no red error messages and no unexplained yellow warning messages. (Compiler-dependent warnings are accepted only if unavoidable and clearly documented).
  • ReadMe File: A ReadMe.txt file is included containing: Example version number, author name, author contact email, brief description (<100 words), and any special execution instructions.
  • Model Quality: The model is complete, well-organized, and professionally presented. Components, labels, signal routing, page layout, and documentation are clear, consistent, and free of unfinished elements.
  • Submission Review: I agree that EMT Tools may make edits (formatting, documentation corrections, model corrections) as part of the review process. Significant technical changes will be discussed prior to publication.

Maintainer Review (Internal Use Only)

  • ClamAV passed.
  • VirusTotal passed.
  • Downloaded and inspected the raw files locally in PSCAD.
  • Approved for the _examples database.
