    Related to #3301, some simple temporary solutions are provided, though I must admit none worked for me. (Also on Fedora)

    Same error here. Error happens after upgrade lua-language-server from 3.15.0 to 3.16.0.

    Same here, Fedora 42.

    I have binutils-2.44-12.fc42.x86_64 installed, which includes /usr/lib64/libbfd-2.44-12.fc42.so, but lua-language-server is looking for libbfd-2.38-system.so.

    I have the same error after upgrade from 3.15.0 to 3.16.0 on my both home machines with Arch Linux (6.17.9-arch1-1)

    Im on linux mint 22.2 and downgrading to 3.15 fixed that issue

    @bliszka

    I have the same problem with Neovim on Arch. My libbfd version is 2.45.1.
    I had to downgrade to 3.15.

    @distantforest1

    It's likely 3.16 is broken on Linux distros. Tested on my Fedora 43 and CachyOS machine. VS Code for both. Reverting back to 3.15 fixed the issue.

    I had this same issue using Neovim and mason. But mason wasn't updating to 13.6.1. So I force it using ":MasonInstall lua-language-server@13.6.1" and its working fine again for me.

    +1 running in to this as well.

    This resolved the issue for me on Linux Mint 22.2 / Neovim v0.12.0-dev

    issue has an temporary fix that is to revert back to 3.15.0 or to force upgrade to 3.16.1, the issue is for the versions 3.16.0. So set the ls version via MasonInstall lua_ls@version should work. I am closing issue as there has been extensive discussion on #3301 which have came to the same conclusion.
