I'm an urban planner who uses GIS and builds tools for practical problems.
My projects include browser-based mapping tools for transportation planning and small utilities for the Debian home server I run. I also contribute fixes to open-source software I use.
- MPO Project Mapper — draw a proposed transportation project, analyze it against regional planning datasets, and export a PDF report. Try the demo.
- Homelab Inventory — generate port and Docker service inventories from the running system, so the documentation stays useful as things change.
- RustGIS — label editing and undo behavior in an open-source GIS.
- Open Brain — a deployment improvement for running the dashboard in Docker.
Most of my work starts with something I need to use myself. I use AI tools to help build and maintain it, alongside testing and learning how the pieces fit together.
