Existing benchmark adapters need repeatable fresh launches and independent output validation to support version comparisons. This adds a command-line runner that rotates treatment order, preserves failed attempts and output identities, and measures launch through validation while keeping warm rounds nested within each launch.
The runner accepts existing workload and validator commands through a JSON manifest. It refuses reused output directories and bounds cleanup of owned child processes. The adjacent README documents the adapter contract and timing boundary.
Validation: 34 CPU tests passed, including timeout, repeated-signal cleanup and receipt checks; repository pre-commit hooks passed, including Ruff, mypy and lock validation.

Walkthrough
Adds a benchmark campaign runner that validates manifests, schedules and executes workload and validation stages, checks receipts, and records per-launch and campaign summaries. The README documents manifest fields, execution behavior, cleanup, and campaign qualification limits.

Summary
Manifest validation and campaign plan examples/benchmarks/README.md, examples/benchmarks/run_campaign.py, tests/core/test_campaign_runner.py
The runner validates manifest fields, resolves treatment directories and commands, and creates a hashed plan with a rotated schedule. Tests cover manifest defaults, scheduling, launch directories, hashes, and plan reuse.
Receipt validation and measured rounds examples/benchmarks/README.md, examples/benchmarks/run_campaign.py, tests/core/test_campaign_runner.py
The runner checks receipt status, quality checks, treatment identity, work counts, and measured rounds. The README describes receipt requirements and round reporting. Tests cover invalid receipts, metadata mismatches, and round-count rules.
Launch execution and reporting examples/benchmarks/README.md, examples/benchmarks/run_campaign.py, tests/core/test_campaign_runner.py
The runner executes workload and validation stages with a shared deadline, handles process cleanup and stop signals, and writes launch and campaign summaries. The README documents timing and summary fields. Tests cover timeouts, child processes, interruptions, cleanup failures, and skipped launches.

Run existing workload and independent validation commands in rotated
blocks, retaining failed work and per-launch evidence. Bound child
cleanup and keep persistent rounds nested within each fresh launch.

a partial cycle is recorded in the schedule. State that a trailing partial cycle
is not completely balanced and that summary.json reports the realized
treatment-position counts; do not add cycle-state fields to prepare().
