I added the U-Mamba architecture (Ma et al., "U-Mamba: Enhancing Long-range Dependency for Biomedical Image Segmentation", https://arxiv.org/abs/2401.04722) to MONAI's network architectures as monai.networks.nets.UMamba, together with unit tests and documentation.
The network combines residual convolutional blocks with Mamba state space blocks in a U-Net encoder-decoder with skip connections. Both variants from the paper are supported through the mamba_mode argument:
"bot" (U-Mamba_Bot): a single Mamba block at the bottleneck.
"enc" (U-Mamba_Enc): a Mamba block after every encoder stage.
Design notes:
Encoder/decoder stages reuse MONAI's UnetResBlock/UnetOutBlock, and the decoder follows the reference implementation (nearest-neighbour upsampling + 1x1 convolution, skip concatenation), including the reference rule that stages in the deeper half use a single residual block.
Deep supervision follows the reference implementation: with deep_supervision=True the forward pass returns a list of the segmentation output of every decoder stage (highest resolution first), each at its native resolution.
The Mamba block (MambaBlock) flattens the feature map into a token sequence, applies layer norm and a Mamba block, and reshapes back, so it works for 1D, 2D and 3D inputs, including anisotropic strides.
mamba_ssm is an optional dependency, handled with optional_import: when it is installed, its fused implementation is used; otherwise a pure PyTorch selective-scan implementation is used automatically, so the network imports and runs on CPU as well (the sequential scan is slower, which is documented in the docstring).

Test report
python -m pytest tests/networks/nets/test_u_mamba.py -q — 12 passed on CPU (fallback implementation), covering 2D/3D shapes for both Mamba modes, anisotropic strides, 1D inputs, deep supervision outputs, a backward pass, and the standalone MambaBlock. ruff check and black --check pass on the changed files.
Adds UMamba (U-Mamba_Bot and U-Mamba_Enc modes) to monai.networks.nets,
with MambaBlock using mamba_ssm when available and a pure PyTorch
selective-scan fallback otherwise. Includes unit tests and docs.
FixesProject-MONAI#7472
Adds MambaBlock with an optional fused implementation and a pure-PyTorch fallback. Adds UMamba, a configurable encoder-decoder segmentation network with bottleneck or encoder-stage Mamba placement and optional deep supervision. Exports and documents both classes. Adds tests for forward outputs, gradients, invalid mode handling, and half-precision output.
Some supported CPU configurations and valid-looking network settings can fail during inference. Resolve those failures and the documentation requirement before merging.

Explanation
[#7472] Network objective met. monai.networks.nets.UMamba and MambaBlock are added and exported (monai/networks/nets/__init__.py), documented (docs/source/networks.rst), and tested (tests/networks/nets/test_u_mamba.py). Unmet: the issue's suggested solution requires a tutorial or pipeline, similar to the nnUNet-DynUNet tutorial, that builds U-Mamba for a given patch size. The diff has no such file. UMamba takes channels/strides directly and has no patch-size-based construction path. The PR objectives also state the tutorial adaptation is not reported.
Resolution
Add the missing deliverable: a tutorial or pipeline module that builds UMamba for a given patch size, following the DynUNet tutorial approach from the issue. If the tutorial belongs in the separate MONAI tutorials repository, state that and link the tutorial PR. Then reassess.

Select the fallback for CPU tensors.
has_mamba_ssm only indicates package availability. When it is true, MambaBlock selects the CUDA-only implementation for every input, so the documented CPU UMamba workflow can fail. Preserve CPU support by selecting _MambaSSM when x.is_cuda is false instead of documenting a limitation or raising an error.

Add docstrings to the four undocumented definitions.
MambaBlock.forward, UMamba.__init__, UMamba._per_stage, and UMamba.forward lack Google-style docstrings. Document their arguments, returns, and applicable ValueError exceptions. The UMamba class docstring body is also over-indented by four spaces: its content starts at eight spaces instead of four. Correct that indentation and document the four constructor validation errors in a Raises section.

Handle zero num_res_units entries as convolution-only stages.
A zero entry creates an empty nn.Sequential. For (2, 0, 2), the following encoder stage expects channels[1] channels but receives channels[0], so forward can fail with a channel-mismatch error.
The proposed validation is inconsistent with MONAI’s existing UNet behavior, where num_res_units=0 means no residual units. Add a convolutional fallback for zero-unit encoder and decoder stages.

Reject spatial sizes not divisible by the stride product before the decoder concatenation.
UMamba accepts any spatial size. Its docstring and __init__ state no divisibility requirement, and forward has no check. For an odd dimension, a stride-2 encoder output is never exactly half the input. The decoder's 2× nearest upsampling therefore cannot restore the skip size, and torch.cat raises a RuntimeError. Example: 33 with strides (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) gives encoder sizes 33, 17, 9, 5, 3. The bottom stage upsamples 3 to 6, but its skip has size 5.
Add an explicit size-divisor check so the error is raised early and states the requirement.
