Python 3.15 should be released on October 1st 2026. PyTorch will probably take a bit of time to be compatible with it, but we should be ready to be compatible with it ASAP. We'll probably be able to drop Python 3.10 in a few months too.

    Remaining steps:

    • when pytorch releases an official version supporting 3.15, we can change ci to install normal pytorch instead of nightly for 3.15. We should also add 3.15 classifier, badge, etc.
    • when cvxpy works on 3.15, we can change ci to install torchjd with full deps for 3.15. Assuming that happens after pytorch also supports 3.15 officially, we can then change the suggested default version of python to 3.15.
