Add a Neon Realtime collection guide for sealed SQL queries, session-owned collections, local live queries, and optimistic writes with transaction ID confirmation. Place Neon Realtime directly above Electric and Convex directly below Electric in the sidebar and overview, as requested.
The examples bind renewal and write requests to the signed-in user, cancel setup when the session ends, and distinguish a saved write awaiting sync from a failed write. The mutation section identifies the exact factory to replace.
The published Neon adapter currently supports TanStack DB 0.9 only and has not been updated for 1.0 RC. The page states this limitation prominently, identifies the RC API examples as requiring a compatible future adapter, and links to Neon's current 0.9 example.
🔬 Oracle Coverage
This PR changes documentation and navigation only. No runtime behavior, oracle contract, or test budget changes.
✅ Checklist
pnpm test:doc-snippets: 810 examples, 0 new failures, 250 known failures.
pnpm lint:changed and Prettier.
Relative links, requested navigation order, and snippet replacement composition.
Focused session/cancellation and post-commit error-classification probes.
React-host cleanup probe and Neon raw-subscription snapshot/64-bit txid probes.
I have tested this code locally with pnpm test.
The full pnpm test suite was not run locally for this documentation change. pnpm test:docs reports 52 existing link issues in unchanged contributor documentation; the modified pages pass focused link checks. The published adapter is incompatible with RC, so these checks do not establish a working deployed Neon/RC integration.
CI on fe7d5be99 found a counterexample in the unchanged ordered-replay oracle: keeps the last publication through a failed replay, seed 1243726749, path 302:3:4:4:8. The failure concerns replay error identity (marker load threw versus the earliest deciding replay failure). It needs a separate core/oracle investigation; this PR does not change that behavior or weaken its checks. Failing job and reproduction details.
🚀 Release Impact
Documentation only. No changeset or package release.

Pin the Neon adapter to a TanStack DB version it supports.
The install command on line 23 has no version pins. It resolves @tanstack/react-db 1.0.0-rc.1, which depends on @tanstack/db 1.0.0-rc.1. The latest published @neon/realtime-tanstack (0.1.1) declares a peer dependency of @tanstack/db^0.9.0. The RC does not satisfy that range, so npm can reject the install with a peer-dependency conflict.
If the RC is installed anyway, the adapter cannot report sync errors. Its sync callback destructures markError and calls it on error paths. The reviewed packages/db/src does not define markError. The adapter can therefore call an undefined function. The collection does not reach the error status that isLoadingError reads, so the error handling in this guide can miss sync failures.
Do not present this adapter as compatible with the 1.0 RC. Document only a version set that installs together and reports sync errors through the TanStack DB contract that the guide's APIs use.

Wait for the initial subscription before writing.
insert() calls startSync() before invoking onInsert. If the write commits while the initial result is pending, the new row can arrive in that initial result instead of a transaction change batch. awaitTxId can then time out after the write commits.
Gate write controls on isReady, or provide another confirmation path.

After the backend commits a write, wait for its Postgres transaction ID with `collection.utils.awaitTxId(txid, timeout)`. This keeps the optimistic state until the corresponding synced changes have entered TanStack DB's sync queue.
In `collections.ts`, keep the existing imports, `client`, `fetchTodosQuery`, and `TodosCollection` type. Add the `api` import and error class below, and **replace** the existing `createTodosCollection` function with this writable version. The application API functions send `{ userId, batch }` in one request, pass `signal` to `fetch`, and return `{ txid: string | null }`, with `null` when no rows changed:

Don't report Saved when a null txid may mean the write changed nothing.
The guide's example handlers resolve successfully when txid is null, and addTodo() then returns Saved. The guide defines null as "no rows changed." That result can mean an already-satisfied no-op, or a write that matched no row, such as a row outside the user's scope or one that was already removed. The handlers and addTodo() cannot distinguish these cases, so the user can see Saved for an update or delete that did not change the requested state.
Keep the null branch from reporting success unless the backend confirms that the requested state already holds. Have the backend return a status that separates these cases, and reject the mutation when the write was not applied. Rejection rolls back the optimistic change, as the guide already states. Do not reject every null, because that would also fail valid idempotent writes.
