💡 What: Implemented a debounce mechanism (100ms) for calculateColumnsPerRow in FileList.jsx and properly clear timeouts to ensure layout is only calculated once resizing stops.
🎯 Why: The previous code fired setTimeout on every single pixel of a window resize or container resize without clearing the previous timeouts. This caused a massive backlog of function executions leading to severe layout thrashing and forced synchronous layouts.
📊 Impact: Significantly reduces CPU usage and jank during window or split-pane resizing by calculating the grid layout only when resizing is complete.
🔬 Measurement: Open the DevTools Performance tab, record while aggressively resizing the application window, and observe that "Recalculate Style" and "Layout" events are grouped and reduced compared to the baseline.
