This release updates the bundled hiredis C library to v1.5.0, adds wheels for Python 3.15, and drops support for Python 3.8.

Breaking Changes

• Drop Python 3.8 support (#​258)

  python_requires is now >=3.9, and no more cp38 wheels will be published. pip on Python 3.8 will keep resolving to hiredis 3.4.x.

🚀 New Features

• Bump hiredis to v1.5.0 (#​257)

  The C parser picks up upstream fixes, including protection against overflow of map elements (redis/hiredis#1323). The nesting limit is now configurable upstream, but it still defaults to 1024, so parsing behavior has not changed.

• Build wheels for Python 3.15 (#​255)

  Wheels are now built with cibuildwheel 4.x and cover CPython 3.15 and free-threaded 3.15t.
