[[https://ajc2.xyz/projects/ahead][Ahead]] is a [[https://esolangs.org/wiki/Fungeoid][Fungeoid]], a 2D grid-based esolang. It was primarily inspired by [[https://esolangs.org/wiki/Befunge][Befunge]] and [[https://esolangs.org/wiki/Fish][><>]], but Ahead has a stronger focus on source layout and a different set of functions. You can read the [[https://github.com/ajc2/ahead/wiki][Wiki]] section for more info.

This is the reference implementation. It is written in [[https://kotlinlang.org][Kotlin]] and uses [[https://gradle.org][Gradle]] for builds.

* Build and Install
** 0: Install Gradle

** 1: Clone this repository

The output will be contained in the =build/install/ahead= directory. The =bin= folder contains scripts to run Ahead, =ahead= and =ahead.bat=. The =lib= folder contains the dependency jars.
** 3: Run
Add the =bin= folder to your =PATH= appropriately and run Ahead!
