The uv migration renamed the distribution to hugegraph-python-client, while existing PyPI users install hugegraph-python. Restore the published name so the next client release follows the existing upgrade path.

  • Before: workspace and downstream metadata require the new distribution name. After: they consistently require hugegraph-python; the module directory and pyhugegraph imports stay unchanged.
  • Declare Python >=3.10 to match existing runtime annotations and CI, update installation guidance, and add installed-package metadata/import contract checks. No client API changes or version bump.

Validation: 47 client unit/contract tests passed (50.94% coverage); 381 LLM tests passed, 3 skipped. Client, LLM and ML distributions build with uv build --no-sources; client wheel/sdist installation on Python 3.10/3.11 and Twine checks pass. The ignored workspace lock was regenerated and checked locally.

Fix the PR's Ruff failure by formatting Python examples in five Markdown files and explicitly preserving LLM's existing E4/E7/E9/F plus I lint baseline across Ruff default-rule changes. Latest Ruff CI passes on Python 3.10/3.11/3.12; no lint gate is disabled.

Release validation: wheel and sdist each pass 47 unit/contract tests in isolated Python 3.10 and 3.11 environments. Both were uploaded to TestPyPI using the companion release script and uv 0.12.18; downloaded bytes match the build SHA-256 values and both install/import successfully. Production PyPI was not uploaded.

Companion publishing automation: hugegraph/actions#32. Independent review of final commits found no actionable issues. Merge is left to the maintainer.
