Paths containing $(...) or backticks could execute shell substitutions when spawn_terminal_in opened iTerm or Terminal.app. Quote the directory for the shell before escaping the complete cd command for AppleScript.
Regression coverage captures both terminal scripts, decodes and executes their shell command, and checks paths containing substitutions, single and double quotes, spaces, and backslashes.
Validation: targeted platform BATS tests and ShellCheck pass. Full suite and CI are also checked for this PR.

Bug Fixes
Fixed macOS terminal launches so directory paths containing special characters are handled literally. This prevents shell substitutions from being triggered and helps ensure the terminal opens in the intended directory, whether using iTerm2 or Terminal.app.

Walkthrough
On macOS, spawn_terminal_in now shell-quotes the directory path before escaping the cd -- command for AppleScript. iTerm2 and Terminal.app use this command. Regression tests check paths with shell metacharacters.

Summary
Build and verify the quoted directory command lib/platform.sh, tests/platform.bats
The macOS branch builds a shell-quoted cd -- command for iTerm2 and Terminal.app. A regression test checks that paths with shell metacharacters resolve literally and do not create marker files.
The macOS terminal-path change appears ready to merge after normal checks.

- Line 62: Canonicalize the expected path in the test before comparing it with
output, since macOS may resolve the temporary directory through a different
physical path. In the test around spawn_terminal_in, derive the expected value
using physical path resolution and compare output against it.
