Description

With email aliases, you can be anonymous online and protect your inbox against spams and phishing. Open source.

The simplelogin script is ready for testing:

After installation, update EMAIL_DOMAIN in /opt/simplelogin/.env with your actual domain and configure DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM) accordingly.
DKIM keys are generated at /opt/simplelogin/dkim/. Add the public key as a TXT record: dkim._domainkey.yourdomain.com
Create your first admin account by visiting the web interface and registering.

Note: This is not in the official repo yet—it's just a dev version! After merging into ProxmoxVE, it will need to be recreated.

Tested. Install not work. Working on it

DKIM keys are generated at /opt/simplelogin/dkim/. Add the public key as a TXT record: dkim._domainkey.yourdomain.com

Misleading at least for me, as public key is not stored at /opt/simplelogin/dkim - it is /opt/simplelogin/local_data/dkim.pub.key

But in my test setup it is also not working:

Container installation worked for me, but i had some issue while getting it to run.

With help of AI i managed to got it working. I did the following things:

-Updated newrelic to version 8.8.0
/opt/simplelogin/.venv/bin/python -m pip install "newrelic~=8.8.0"

-Regenerated DKIM keys

After installation, update EMAIL_DOMAIN and URL in /opt/simplelogin/.env with your actual domain and configure DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM) accordingly.
A working SMTP setup (Postfix + valid domain/DNS) is required. Registration sends an activation email that must be delivered.
DKIM keys are generated in /opt/simplelogin/dkim/. The ready-to-use DNS TXT record is saved to /opt/simplelogin/dkim/dkim.dns.txt (public key also at dkim.public.key). Add it as a TXT record at dkim._domainkey.yourdomain.com, replacing EMAIL_DOMAIN with your domain.
For real email delivery, edit /etc/postfix/main.cf with your values: myhostname (e.g. sl.yourdomain.com), mydomain (yourdomain.com), myorigin = $mydomain, inet_interfaces = all, and add your LXC subnet to mynetworks; then 'systemctl restart postfix'. SimpleLogin requires a fully configured mail domain (MX, SPF, DKIM, PTR/rDNS).
Create your first admin account by visiting the web interface and registering.

Install worked but had an issue with newrelic (AttributeError: module 'newrelic.agent' has no attribute 'record_custom_metric') and had to reinstall that with help from chatgpt

installed ok today. had to do the steps as per mwLabs-eu above except didn't have to regen DKIM.

tried an update via the usual 'update' script today. Failed. Looks like an error copying the .env back to the program folder

the backups have been created at: /opt/simplelogin.backup/files/opt/simplelogin
Note: there is no 'env.bak' in the backup folder
