• Validate each active instance independently, including CLI and environment input.
• Support scalar, boolean, and slice fields with different value types.
• Count explicitly empty literals, zero numbers, and false booleans as supplied; ignore unset defaults.
• Reject nil, duplicate, and foreign-group handles during registration.
• Show per-instance choice constraints in help output.
• Preserve existing named global one-of behavior.

Validation: tests and race tests on Go 1.25, go vet, and golangci-lint (zero findings).
