chore(diagnostics): retire the unused experimental CRI log analyzer - #5856
Conversation
The opt-in runtime-log diagnostic from #4351 was last used on 4 October. Its reassessment on 10 October set the rule for the next one: retire the tool and its guide if it was still unused with no concrete next use named. Nothing has used or named it since, so remove the program, its guide, its CI step and the AGENTS.md pointer, leaving no undated experimental gate. Scope: the whole diff against main at this head, including the conflict resolution. main had lint-fixed scripts/analyze-cri-logs/main.go in #5853; the merge keeps the retirement (the file stays deleted) and keeps main's new Validation paragraph in AGENTS.md, changing only its single-package example to ./scripts/validate-eks-ci-role-policy, which exists. git grep finds no remaining reference to analyze-cri-logs or runtime-log-diagnosis; go build ./... passes, all 11 Go modules are tidy, go vet ./scripts/... is clean and actionlint passes for ci.yaml.
Verdict: no P0/P1 findings

Why
The offline runtime-log diagnostic from #4351 was added behind an explicit opt-in so its first real use could be judged before routine adoption. It was used once, on 4 October. The 10 October reassessment on #4350 set the rule for the next one: if the tool was still unused and nobody had named a concrete next use, retire it and its guide, "because a diagnostic nobody reaches for during an open latency incident is not earning its upkeep."
The next reassessment was due on 24 October. Nothing has used or named the tool since then. Searches of the repository's issues and pull requests find no use after 4 October. The latency work in #4329 has moved to other measurements, such as the Cilium limiter observation runs.
What
scripts/analyze-cri-logsanddocs/runtime-log-diagnosis.md.No other file refers to the tool. It used only the Go standard library, so no module file changes. No experimental gate is left without a date.
Validation
actionlintpasses for.github/workflows/ci.yaml.go build ./...passes for the root module, andbash scripts/check-go-modules-tidy.shreports all 11 modules tidy.git grepfinds no remaining reference toanalyze-cri-logsorruntime-log-diagnosis.This change has no runtime surface: it removes an offline operator tool and its documentation, and touches no manifest.
