Devsy v1.22.0
Devsy v1.22.0 expands support for external runtimes, improves workspace configuration and agent workflows, and includes fixes across Podman, Microsandbox, and GPG forwarding.
Highlights
External runtime support
This release expands Devsy's external runtime architecture:
These changes continue the work toward making Devsy runtimes more extensible while keeping workspace lifecycle management consistent across providers.
Workspace variables and secrets
The Desktop app now provides workspace-level management for environment variables and secrets (#1373).
This makes it easier to configure workspace-specific values without managing them separately outside Devsy.
First-party Devsy agent skill
Devsy now includes a first-party agent skill (#1378).
The skill gives AI agents structured guidance for interacting with Devsy and managing development workspaces through supported Devsy workflows.
Reliability Improvements
Podman on Windows
Improved recovery when Windows Podman initialization only partially completes (#1374).
This reduces failures caused by incomplete or inconsistent Podman startup state.
Microsandbox and rootful Podman permissions
Improved permission synchronization for Microsandbox environments and rootful Podman access (#1380).
GPG agent forwarding
Devsy now attempts to recover when GPG agent forwarding fails during workspace connection (#1389).
This improves reliability for workflows that depend on forwarded GPG credentials, including signed Git operations.
Desktop Improvements
Simplified update settings
The Desktop update settings UI has been simplified to make release channel and update information easier to understand (#1381).
Internal Improvements
Docker provisioning
Refactored the Pro Docker provisioning pipeline out of the workspace start command (#1386).
This separates provisioning responsibilities from workspace startup and makes the lifecycle code easier to maintain and extend.
