When an event payload supplies @ref:parent as a JSON boolean, the ingestion path stores bool.ToString() as True or False, while this conversion produces true or false; the backfill also uses the lowercase Painless representation. Because idx.parent-r is a case-sensitive keyword, clicking this reference or opening its by-reference URL cannot find a newly ingested event even though an equivalent migrated event is discoverable. Normalize reference values consistently at the indexing boundary.

By-reference navigation finds both direct references and matching parent references on free and paid plans. The events-list link preserves that filter, and the reference page reports the full server total for its bounded preview. Migration 11 backfills retained parent references without overwriting existing indexes; custom-reference searches remain premium-only.
Validation: 156 focused backend tests, 147 frontend tests, frontend validation (zero errors/warnings), production build, and whitespace checks passed after integrating current main.
Remaining gates: hosted CI on the new revision is pending; contributor CLA was pending on the previous head. Local service-backed migration/API tests were not rerun because no isolated runtime or exclusive runtime grant was established. Browser walkthrough remains unverified.
Verification and implementation details
Integrated main
1326f7463ef2ef52d637adcad1a028e405ab5505by normal merge. Main now owns migration 10, so the parent backfill uses 11 and its registration test checks that version. Updated affected test/page imports for current package subpaths, preserved the environment free-field allowance, and retained current main's dynamic migration fixture setup. All prior review threads were resolved at inspection.
