Reason for transfer: This is a very popular, mature library for acquiring geolocation, a central functionality of many apps. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone unmaintained since a couple of months. Since many developers use this plugin in production apps, there would be great interest in reinstating ensured long-term maintenance of the project.

@jeroen-meijer what are the chances that this package will be adopted by fluttercommunity?
@mvanbeusekom would you agree with moving in this direction?

@bartekpacia I think 'up-to-date' is a stretch. There has been AFAIK two commits, one changing a detail in the documentation and one with some dependency version bump. The issues and PRs still keep piling up and seemingly nothing is done about it. Also, the owner went silent a long time ago.

We resorted to integrating the code into our own project and maintain the parts relevant to us.
