Feature request: /plugin update --all (bulk update all installed plugins) #2924

Closed

Description

@JesseEsquivel

Describe the feature or problem you'd like to solve

Updating multiple Copilot CLI plugins requires running /plugin update individually. No bulk update exists.

Proposed solution

/plugin update --all — updates all installed plugins, prints a summary of what changed.

Example prompts or workflows

Standard QoL pattern (npm update, brew upgrade, gh extension upgrade --all). As the plugin ecosystem grows and the number of installed plugins grows, this becomes essential for easy update management.

    Thanks for the request. Copilot CLI v1.0.49 added copilot plugin update --all, which updates every installed plugin at once, and inside a session /plugin flags plugins that have a newer upstream version and offers an Update action (v1.0.81). If you specifically need --all on the in-session /plugin update command as well, feel free to reopen.

    Triaged as part of a Copilot SDK backlog review, with help from GitHub Copilot.
