    @ga-sfr

    Codex fixed it this way:

    I'm preparing a minimal patch to replace the waitlist verification function with a no-op that always resolves
    successfully, avoiding unreachable domain errors and enabling CLI use without waitlist validation. The patch will
    target the exact function in the minified index.js using apply_patch for a clean bypass.

    So any timeline when this will be fixed?

    @fac42

    Can confirm that this bug still persists, also on version 0.1.36 of the CLI client.

    Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the confusion. github-copilot-cli v0.1.36 is an older preview package (@githubnext/github-copilot-cli on npm) that is deprecated and no longer supported, and the waitlist host it contacts no longer exists, so this error can't be fixed in that package. This repository is for the current GitHub Copilot CLI, which is a separate tool: uninstall the old package with npm uninstall -g @githubnext/github-copilot-cli, install the new one with npm install -g @github/copilot (or via Homebrew, WinGet, or the install script described in the README), then run copilot and sign in with /login. We're closing this since it only affects the retired preview package.

    Triaged as part of a Copilot SDK backlog review, with help from GitHub Copilot.
