Production chat audit (2026-10-17 → 10-20) found get_paper_info title misses for papers that are in the catalog under another title: vLLM (2309.06180), PLBART (2103.06333), Routing Transformer (2003.05997), ImageNetV2 (1902.10811). The miss said the paper "is not indexed on Papers With Code", so the model told users that.

  • CatalogClient._resolve_paper: after an exhausted exact/near title search, one hybrid search (page size 3) adds ; closest catalog papers: Title (ID); … to the miss. The message still starts with Paper title not found, so the public-metadata fallback is unchanged.
  • server.public_paper: when the public lookup also misses and candidates exist, the error says no catalog paper has exactly this title and ends with "If one of the closest catalog papers is the paper meant, call again with its ID: …". Without candidates the message is unchanged.
  • Release pwc-mcp 0.2.11.

Checked against the live catalog: all four papers above appear in the candidates. Tests: uv run --group dev pytest -q tests in mcp_server (85 passed).

Production chat (2026-10-17..20) reported vLLM, PLBART, Routing Transformer
and ImageNetV2 as missing because the model cited them by a blog, repository
or shortened title. A title miss now runs one hybrid search and lists the top
three catalog papers with their IDs; the final MCP error puts them last with
an instruction to retry by ID, instead of only saying "not indexed".

Release pwc-mcp 0.2.11.
