corpus: Ada/SPARK, Rust/Creusot and the estate profile adapters (+ vocabulary wiring) - #448
Conversation
Verification vocabulary was absent from every cross-prover dictionary. _wordnet_math (81 rows) and _conceptnet_seed (53 rows) cover undergraduate and competition pure mathematics, the same shape as the ProofNet and MiniF2F adapters; 21 of 23 probe concepts (zero_extend, wrapping_add, slice_disjoint, dioid, noninterference, ...) had no entry at all. * data/synonyms/_verification_systems.toml: 657 new rows in 12 families -- bitvectors, memory layout/ABI, ownership and slicing, separation and region framing, contracts and proof obligations, termination measures, refinement/semantics, resource algebras, information flow/epistemic, concurrency, toolchains, and estate layering. * estate policy encoded in the vocabulary: Idris2 ABIs, Zig APIs and FFIs, SNIF (not bare NIF) boundaries, Rust/Creusot, Julia, Chapel; no Python. * _msc2020.toml: 87 -> 177 codes. 68Qxx (26) and 68Nxx (10) are now complete, 03B/03C/03D/03F completed, 68M/68P/68T/68V/68W and 06B35 added. FIFTEEN pre-existing rows carried MSC2010 or transferred wording (03B15, 68T15 are MSC2010-only; all four 68V rows were mislabelled; 03D03, 03F50, 06A11, 18N10 were wrong) and are repaired with notes. * wiring: CrossProverDicts::verification_systems (Rust) and SaturationSynonyms.load_verification_systems (Julia), both exported and documented; state/meta manifests and prose counts updated. * docs/reports/2026-10-22-vocabulary-recon.adoc: the recon, including the finding that the dictionaries are loaded but have no ranking consumer yet, and that '250 codes in 68Q/68N/03B70' is impossible (those sections define 37 codes in total). Validated with a local mirror of schema.ncl (Nickel is not installed in this sandbox): 19 tables, 1357 rows, 0 failures, all reject fixtures still reject. CI must still run just lexicon-check. …nd idris2 - CrossProverDicts::tables()/len()/is_empty(); SynonymTable::merge_cross_prover_dicts() - corpus crossquery now searches the 5 cross-prover dictionaries (--provers-only to opt out) and matches a canonical name directly, so 'crossquery 68Q60' works - run_training.jl preloads all 5 dictionaries; add SaturationSynonyms.load_disciplines - _msc2020.toml: 19 rows repaired against zbMATH, 4 codes added (18G35/18M05/18N45/18N60); 181 rows - idris2.toml 6 -> 26 rows: ABI-layer vocabulary (Fin/Vect/So/LTE/Bits/foreign_import/...) - tests/lexicon_v2_test.rs: assert the verification dictionary is non-empty, classes resolve, merge reaches them, and the estate layer vocabulary exists - docs: drop the invented with_msc2020()/with_wordnet()/with_conceptnet() API from the wikis; five-dictionary wording everywhere; CHANGELOG + recon report updated Co-authored-by: arena-agent <297053741+arena-agent@users.noreply.github.com>
Three adapters for the languages the estate's own stack is written in, rather than for another public corpus. - src/rust/corpus/spark_ada.rs: *.ads/*.adb; packages, with/use clauses, Pre/Post/Contract_Cases/Global/Depends aspects, and the GNATprove escape hatches. pragma Assume (and the old --# assume form) is reported as a postulate; sparklib's Ghost Lemma_* convention is tagged sparklib:lemma. Spec and body are paired across files into one entry. - src/rust/corpus/creusot.rs: *.rs; folds #[requires]/#[ensures]/#[invariant] /#[variant]/#[logic]/#[predicate]/#[cfg(creusot)] into the statement and tags pearlite!/proof_assert!/unsafe/transmute/extern "C". #[trusted] is a postulate. #[test] items excluded. - src/rust/corpus/profile.rs + data/corpus-profiles/hyperpolymath-estate.toml: the hyperpolymath_estate profile. Every repo's src/abi Idris2 tree via a "*" rule, plus echo/epistemic/secret/tropical/choreographic-types (Agda). Sub-trees indexed by their own adapters, then merged with repo:: prefixes and repo:/layer: tags. - Corpus::reindex_links() split out of reindex() so a merge keeps the sub-adapters' discipline tags. - crates/echidna-core-creusot/src/estate_layers.rs: Creusot-annotated layer classification (PO-L1..L5) - stated, not proved, mirrored by tests. - tests/corpus_estate_adapters.rs + fixtures for both adapters. - _verification_systems.toml +8 rows for the syntax the adapters detect. - 17 -> 20 adapters across README/EXPLAINME/wikis/Justfile/capnp/a2ml. - Backlog re-ordered: iris + tlaps to the top, alphaproof + naproche to the bottom, with the reasons recorded next to each. The Zig/Julia/Chapel/BEAM boundaries have no corpus adapter, so returning a name for them made the round-trip test assert a mapping that does not exist (and failed CI). Those layers now return None. Co-authored-by: arena-agent <297053741+arena-agent@users.noreply.github.com>

Keep ordinary Creusot contracts out of hazard tags
AxiomUsage::any() treats every nonempty other vector as hazardous, so adding creusot:requires and creusot:ensures here makes every normally contracted function fail the axiom-free filter and increments the hazardous-entry count. The checked-in increment fixture has both attributes and explicitly expects axiom_usage.any() to be false, so that integration test also fails.

Avoid ingesting Agda source trees twice
When a listed repository has a src directory, both bases exist: ingesting src finds its Agda files, then ingesting the repository root recursively finds the same files again. Consequently the advertised estate profile duplicates modules and entries for every src-based type library, corrupts corpus statistics/training rows, and leaves by_qualified pointing at only the last duplicate.

Resolve Ada dependencies case-insensitively
Ada identifiers are case-insensitive, but this lookup uses the source spelling against a case-sensitive HashSet. For example, a declaration named Clamp referenced as CLAMP or clamp is omitted from dependencies, which makes forward and reverse dependency queries incomplete even though the reference is valid Ada.

Skip the contents of cfg(test) modules
This only recognizes test attributes attached directly to declarations that the parser already indexes. Because mod itself is not parsed, the scanner walks straight into a common #[cfg(test)] mod tests { ... } block and indexes its unannotated helper functions, structs, and constants, despite the adapter promising to exclude test scaffolding.

Keep Dafny and F extension layers consistent*
layer_of_adapter classifies the dafny and fstar adapters as Layer::Spark, while this branch classifies their .dfy and .fst files as Layer::Types. Thus the stated extension/adapter agreement is false, and composing adapter_of_layer(layer_of_extension(...)) selects Agda for those files instead of their actual adapters.

Tokenize valid Unicode Rust without slicing inside code points
The tokenizer advances one byte for every character not recognized as ASCII and then slices the UTF-8 str at that byte boundary. Any non-ASCII Rust identifier or non-ASCII character literal that survives cleaning therefore panics with an invalid string-boundary error, aborting ingestion of the entire project even though such source is valid Rust.

Reject an invalid explicit estate manifest path
When ECHIDNA_ESTATE_MANIFEST is set but points to a missing or non-file path, this silently ignores the requested override and continues with a root, working-directory, or built-in manifest. A typo in an experiment's manifest setting can therefore index the wrong repository set while still succeeding; an explicitly supplied override should surface an error instead of falling back.

Keep SPARK source paths and line numbers from the same file
For a normal cross-file spec/body pair, the retained entry still belongs to the body module and therefore its .adb path, but this overwrites its line with the declaration line from the .ads spec. Corpus queries and octad provenance consequently report a source location combining the body filename with an unrelated spec-file line number.

Strip comments and strings before detecting SPARK hazards
The stored statement and proof slices come from the original source, so passing them directly to substring-based hazard detection treats explanatory comments and string literals as code. For example, a body comment saying -- pragma Assume is forbidden here sets postulate = true, causing a safe declaration to be rejected and exported as trusted even though apply_out_of_decl_hazards explicitly tries to ignore prose comments.

Accept operator symbols as Ada function names
Ada function designators may be quoted operator symbols such as function "+" (...), but the tokenizer classifies that name as a string and this identifier-only check drops the declaration completely. Operator overloads are common in mathematical and SPARK packages, so their contracts, bodies, dependencies, and hazards never enter the corpus.

Inline comments:
Review comments at @.github/workflows/zz-diag.yml:
- Line 16: Remove the unused pull-requests: write permission from the workflow
permissions; retain issues: write so the job can create its issue comment.
- Line 54: Update the issue-comment publication and ntfy loop in the diagnostics
workflow to count HTTP responses outside the 2xx range as failures, as well as
curl transport errors. Ensure the diagnostics step exits unsuccessfully when the
issue-comment request fails, and increments FAIL for unsuccessful ntfy
responses.
- Line 45: Update the Cargo command reporting in the workflow so each command’s
complete output is captured and its exit status recorded before truncating only
the copy appended to OUT. Apply this to the rustfmt, cargo check and cargo test
commands, avoiding a pipeline that can mask their statuses or close their output
early.
Review comments at @crates/echidna-core-creusot/src/estate_layers.rs:
- Around line 125-154: Update layer_of_adapter and layer_of_extension so Dafny
and F* each map to the same Layer in both classifications, then add the ("dfy",
"dafny") and ("fst", "fstar") pairs to extensions_agree_with_their_adapter to
verify the agreement.
- Around line 42-49: Update the PO-L3 contract to use the existing final
variant, Layer::Unknown, instead of Layer::Verifier. Correct the Layer::label()
documentation to describe its actual use for manifest rule.layer values, not the
module option; leave merge_subcorpus unchanged.
Review comments at @data/synonyms/_msc2020.toml:
- Around line 274-277: Update the MSC2020 06A11 entry so its aliases and
semantic_class describe algebraic aspects of posets, not chain conditions; move
the chain-condition aliases to the MSC row that defines chain conditions if
needed. Preserve the separate well-foundedness class used by the Guides example.
Review comments at @data/synonyms/idris2.toml:
- Line 102: Update the Bits8 and Int64 rows to remove sibling-width types from
aliases, and update the multiplicity and erasure rows to remove numeric literals
from aliases. Preserve their semantic_class links; use a specialisation or
generalisation relation only if retaining those links outside alternatives.
Review comments at @data/synonyms/README.adoc:
- Around line 76-78: Update the README’s description of underscore-prefixed
files to reference only load_cross_prover_dicts, removing the nonexistent
SynonymTable::with_*() symbol. Correct the TypeChecker discipline count from 42
to 41, keeping it consistent with the 41 [[synonym]] entries in
_disciplines.toml.
Review comments at @docs/CORPUS-ADAPTERS.adoc:
- Line 118: Close the AsciiDoc passthroughs in the rule-table entry and the
reindex bullet: add the missing closing `+` to the `name = "*"` and `reindex()`
spans, preserving the surrounding text.
Review comments at @docs/wikis/Architecture.md:
- Around line 84-93: Update the Architecture section’s introductory count to
reflect its six listed layers, and revise the structural ingest adapter count to
include the rows dated 2026-10-22. Keep both descriptions consistent with the
current list and table.
Review comments at @docs/wikis/Getting-Started.md:
- Line 97: Update the adapter list in the sentence about the 2026-06-01
saturation campaign in Getting-Started so it includes all 20 adapters, adding
spark_ada, creusot, and hyperpolymath_estate to the existing 17 names.
Review comments at @docs/wikis/Home.md:
- Line 73: Update the corpus-adapter index description in the Home documentation
to replace the stale “17-adapter” count with the current count of 20, keeping it
consistent with the existing corpus-adapter summary.
Review comments at @EXPLAINME.adoc:
- Around line 56-70: Update the corpus summary in EXPLAINME.adoc to include
spark_ada, creusot, and hyperpolymath_estate, and clarify that the estate
profile is not a separate language. Change the cross-prover dictionary counts to
five, including _disciplines.toml loaded by load_cross_prover_dicts, and align
the corresponding counts in docs/CORPUS-ADAPTERS.adoc and CHANGELOG.adoc.
Review comments at @README.adoc:
- Line 323: Update the Corpus Coverage section and corpus ingest index text to
consistently report 20 structural ingest adapters, including all three missing
adapters in the table. Change the cross-prover taxonomic dictionary count to
five and include `_disciplines.toml`.
Review comments at @src/julia/corpus_loader.jl:
- Around line 7-8: Update the adapter-name list in the comment near the “20
adapter output paths” text to include spark_ada, creusot, and
hyperpolymath_estate, preserving the existing names.
Review comments at @src/julia/run_training.jl:
- Around line 114-116: Update the comment near the loader’s catch block to
describe the actual behavior: load failures are logged as warnings and the run
continues with an empty table. Remove the claim that a broken row fails at
launch; leave the warning-and-continue behavior unchanged.
Review comments at @src/rust/corpus/creusot.rs:
- Around line 92-109: In the declaration loop in parse_rust_file, track the
enclosing impl type and include it in each method’s qualified name so methods
with the same name in different impl blocks remain distinct. If the impl type
cannot be determined, add a line-based suffix when the qualified name already
exists; keep the by_qualified one-to-one invariant.
- Around line 255-282: Update clean_source to recognise raw string prefixes
using the same closing quote and hash count, and to blank and skip escaped
character literals such as '\X'. Preserve ordinary string and lifetime handling
so literal contents do not affect match_brace.
- Around line 481-488: Update the test-scaffolding exclusion in the scanner:
when it encounters a `mod` with a leading `cfg(test)` attribute, skip its
brace-matched body so nested helpers are not indexed; also recognise test
attributes whose text ends with `test]`, including `#[tokio::test]` and
`#[rstest]`, rather than matching only the exact `#[test]` text.
- Around line 138-160: Update walk_rust to inspect each entry with
entry.file_type() and skip symlinks before recursing; use the entry’s file type
to identify directories instead of p.is_dir(), while preserving the existing
directory exclusions and Rust-file collection.
Review comments at @src/rust/corpus/profile.rs:
- Around line 188-212: Treat `rule.paths` in the base-selection flow as ordered
alternatives rather than ingesting every existing directory: select the first
existing base and pass only that base to `ingest_dir`, preserving the `seen`
check and merge behaviour. Add a regression test with `echo-types/src/Echo.agda`
that verifies the entry is counted once.
- Around line 349-357: Update rules_resolve_repositories_on_disk to use a unique
temporary directory containing an echidna directory and a child directory, then
call repo_dirs with that fixture as the root. Replace assertions that depend on
CARGO_MANIFEST_DIR or the live repository layout with assertions against the
controlled fixture, including the wildcard result.
Review comments at @src/rust/corpus/spark_ada.rs:
- Around line 154-178: Update walk_ada to check each entry’s file type and skip
symlinks before deciding whether to recurse into a directory; retain existing
directory exclusions and Ada-file collection behaviour.
- Around line 658-666: Update merge_spec_and_body to preserve the body's
postulate flag when combining AxiomUsage, rather than replacing it with the
spec's value; merge the flag with OR semantics to match merge_cross_file. Add a
unit test for a spec and body in one .adb where the body uses pragma Assume, and
verify the merged entry remains postulated.
Review comments at @tests/corpus_estate_adapters.rs:
- Around line 60-71: Update the SPARK module-option assertion in
`spark_ada_reports_spark_syntax_on_the_module` to accept either `SPARK` or
`SPARK_Mode`, while preserving the existing assertion that the `Smoke` module is
present.
- Line 84: Update the `increment` assertion on `inc[0].axiom_usage` to check the
trust signals rather than `any()`: verify `postulate` is false and that `other`
contains no `creusot:trusted` entry.
Review comments at @tests/corpus_fixtures/spark_ada/smoke.ads:
- Line 21: Update the comment in the `smoke.ads` diff to name the test file
`corpus_estate_adapters.rs` with the plural form, leaving the rest of the
comment unchanged.
Review comments at @tests/lexicon_v2_test.rs:
- Around line 277-282: Replace the `by_semantic_class`/`aliases` assertion with
checks against `alternatives("snif")` and `alternatives("nif")`, verifying that
neither offers the other as a replacement.

Align the documented contracts with the code.
- The PO-L3 block refers to
Layer::Verifier. That variant does not exist. The last discriminant isLayer::Unknown. label()is documented as "used as thelayer:module option".profile.rs::merge_subcorpuswrites the manifest'srule.layerinstead. For the Agda rules, that value isecho, epistemic, and so on, nottypes. A consumer that parseslayer:<x>withLayerlabels gets no match for every Agda module.
Correct the doc text, or make the profile derive the option from Layer::label().

Update the PO-L3 contract to use the existing final variant, Layer::Unknown,

Fix PO-L5. It is false for the dafny and fstar adapters.
layer_of_adapter("dafny") and layer_of_adapter("fstar") return Layer::Spark. layer_of_extension("dfy") and layer_of_extension("fst") return Layer::Types. PO-L5 states that extension classification agrees with adapter classification for the files each adapter owns. That statement fails for these two adapters.
The test mirror extensions_agree_with_their_adapter passes only because it omits these pairs. Choose one layer for each language. Then add ("dfy", "dafny") and ("fst", "fstar") to the test.

Do not list distinct types and literals as interchangeable aliases.
These rows use the default relation = "synonym". Per data/synonyms/README.adoc, only synonym and phrase rows feed the variant tester through SynonymTable::alternatives. The rows give wrong results:
Bits8listsBits16,Bits32andBits64as aliases.Int64listsInt8,Int16andInt32. These are different widths, so they are not substitutes. The row notes say that the width is part of the type.multiplicityanderasureboth list"0"as an alias.multiplicityalso lists"1".alternatives("0")therefore returns"1",unrestrictedanderasedas drop-in replacements.
Remove the sibling widths and the numeric literals from aliases. Keep the sharing through semantic_class. If you want to keep a link, use relation = "specialisation" or "generalisation". Those rows go through SynonymTable::related and not through alternatives.

Assert the SNIF/NIF rule through alternatives.
The comment calls this a regression guard on the row's relation. The assertion inspects the aliases of only the first snif row in estate-snif. It does not check the relation. It misses a second row that links snif and nif.
alternatives("snif") reads all rows and applies the relation filter. It is the same path that the variant tester uses. Assert on that path in both directions.

Correct the 06A11 entry to match MSC2020.
MSC2020 defines 06A11 as “Algebraic aspects of posets”. The current aliases and semantic_class = "chain-condition" describe a different topic. Because _msc2020.toml is merged into per-prover tables, this can produce an incorrect cross-prover classification.
Use aliases and a semantic class for algebraic aspects of posets, or move the chain-condition aliases to the MSC row that defines chain conditions.
The previous 06A11 entry used semantic_class = "well-founded", not "well-foundedness". Therefore, this change does not remove the well-foundedness class used by the Guides example.

Update the MSC2020 06A11 entry so its aliases and semantic_class describe
algebraic aspects of posets, not chain conditions; move the chain-condition
aliases to the MSC row that defines chain conditions if needed. Preserve the

Use the implemented loader and correct the discipline count.
SynonymTable::with_*() does not exist. Use load_cross_prover_dicts.
_disciplines.toml uses 41 [[synonym]] entries, not [[entry]] entries. Its header also states 41 disciplines. Change “42” to “41”; there is no evidence of one missing discipline.

Exclude uncontracted functions from Creusot ingestion
When this adapter ingests a normal Rust crate, this branch accepts every fn without checking whether its leading attributes contain a Creusot contract, #[logic], or #[predicate]. This contradicts the adapter's specified-surface contract and fills the corpus and training input with ordinary implementation functions; filter function declarations by the recognized Creusot attributes before emitting them.

Scan cleaned Creusot bodies for hazards
For a contracted function whose body contains a comment or string mentioning #[trusted], this passes the original body text to substring-based hazard detection and sets postulate = true, so the otherwise safe entry is rejected by the Julia training gate. Other hazard spellings such as transmute, todo!, and unsafe are likewise falsely reported; use the already-cleaned source slice for detection while retaining the original text as the stored proof.

Advance over complete Unicode characters in Ada tokens
When an Ada source contains a non-ASCII identifier, the tokenizer reaches this fallback, advances only one byte, and then slices the UTF-8 string at an interior byte boundary, which panics and aborts ingestion. Ada sources can contain Unicode identifiers, so punctuation/unknown-token advancement must use the current character's UTF-8 width rather than one byte.

Propagate cross-prover dictionary parse failures
When any newly preloaded dictionary is malformed, this catch converts the parse error into a warning and training continues, directly defeating the stated launch-time validation requirement and allowing a run to proceed without the verification or discipline vocabulary. Let the loader error abort startup, or only tolerate an explicitly optional missing file rather than every parsing failure.

Treat separate and abstract subprograms as bodyless
For declarations such as procedure P is separate; or function F ... is abstract;, this treats every depth-zero is as the start of an implementation and stores separate or abstract as a proof. The resulting entry can then be merged with its contract and presented as a proved implementation even though no body was ingested; recognize these bodyless forms before returning body_start.

Keep fixed-width integer types non-interchangeable
Because this row omits a non-interchangeable relation, the loader defaults it to synonym, and SynonymTable::alternatives("Bits8") offers Bits16, Bits32, and Bits64 as drop-in replacements. Width is explicitly part of these types and substitutions change ABI layout and arithmetic semantics; represent the widths as separate entries or a non-interchangeable relationship instead. The adjacent signed-width row has the same defect.

Include the Isabelle AFP table in crossquery
The expanded command still searches only ProverKind::Isabelle, which maps to isabelle.toml; the separately shipped isabelle_afp.toml is neither loaded by load_all nor represented in this loop. Consequently queries for AFP semantic classes such as induction, automation, resolution, and smt omit their Isabelle results even though the command now claims to search every synonym table.

Preserve extern ABI modifiers during Rust cleaning
For an extern "C" fn, string cleaning replaces the C payload with a space, so the preceding token can never equal "C" here. modifier_start therefore begins the stored statement at fn, dropping both extern "C" and any modifier before it, and flag_creusot_hazards never emits the advertised creusot:ffi_edge tag for this trust boundary.

Recognize trusted attributes nested in cfg_attr
When stable-compatible code writes #[cfg_attr(feature = "creusot", trusted)], enabling the feature produces a trusted Creusot declaration, but this exact-prefix check never recognizes the nested attribute and leaves postulate false. The repository already uses cfg_attr(feature = "creusot", ...) for its Creusot annotations, so trusted declarations written in the same style can enter the corpus as proved; parse the attribute contents rather than requiring the outer attribute to be trusted.

Make disabled SPARK proofs fail the training gate
For pragma Annotate (GNATprove, Skip_Proof) and its equivalent disabling forms, this records only an other tag, while load_corpus_examples explicitly skips the other field when deciding whether to reject an entry. A declaration whose proof obligations were disabled is therefore admitted to training as hazard-free; set a boolean trust flag or teach the gate to reject this hazard tag.

Remove
byte from the byte-order synonyms
Because this row omits relation, the loader treats every alias as an interchangeable synonym. The existing octet row also aliases byte, so SynonymTable::alternatives("byte") can now offer byte_order, endianness, and even the generic word order as replacements for an eight-bit value, changing types into unrelated memory-layout concepts during variant generation.

Apply unit-level suppression to every affected declaration
When a unit-level pragma Suppress appears before several declarations, this fallback always attaches the hazard to only decls[0]. The remaining declarations in the same suppressed region are therefore reported as having checks enabled and pass axiom-free corpus queries even though the pragma applies to them as well; region-wide pragmas need to be propagated to every declaration in their scope rather than assigned to a single nearest entry.

Skip symlinked directories while walking Ada sources
When an Ada tree contains a directory symlink, Path::is_dir() follows it and the recursive walk traverses outside the requested root; a symlink back to an ancestor repeatedly recurses until ingestion fails. The Creusot walker already checks entry.file_type()?.is_symlink() before descending, and the Ada walker needs the same guard.

Require a unique spec before merging a body
When a package has multiple overload declarations with the same qualified name but only one body entry—for example, another overload is imported—this checks only that the body count is one. Each spec iteration then reuses that same body, overwrites its statement, and marks every spec for removal, collapsing distinct overloads into one entry; the merge must also establish that there is exactly one matching spec or match signatures.

Track const-expression braces before choosing the body
For a valid signature containing a braced const expression outside parentheses, such as fn f() -> [u8; { N + 1 }] { ... }, this treats the const expression's opening brace as the function body. The stored statement is truncated and the proof becomes only N + 1, so const-generic Creusot declarations are corrupted; signature scanning must distinguish braces nested in type and const syntax from the actual body delimiter.

Preserve enclosing Rust scopes in qualified names
When a file contains common repeated method names across traits or impls, such as impl A { fn new(...) } and impl B { fn new(...) }, both entries receive the identical module.new qualified name because the parser does not retain their enclosing scope. Corpus::reindex_links then leaves by_qualified pointing only to the last method, corrupting lookups and provenance; inline modules create the same collision, so qualified names must include the enclosing impl, trait, or module path.

Retain Rust data bodies for dependency resolution
When a struct, enum, or union refers to another indexed type only in a field or variant, this branch advances past the entire brace block without storing that text in either statement or proof. The later dependency pass scans only those two fields, so it omits the referenced type and the corpus stores declarations such as pub struct Wrapper without their actual shape; skip indexing fields as separate declarations while still retaining the data body in the parent statement.

…te webpki dependencies
…bedder (#449) ## What this does Two things: it lands the fixes that were still sitting on the branch after #448 merged, and it replaces the corpus's name-based cross-prover identity with a structural one. ### 1. Corpus identity is now the shape of the *type*, not the name `E6 GraphModality.cross_prover_identity_key` used to be the SHA-256 of a declaration's name tail, so `+-comm` (Agda), `Nat.add_comm` (Coq/Lean), `addComm` (Idris 2) and `bvadd_comm` (SMT-LIB) shared nothing. The new `src/rust/corpus/canonical.rs` normalises the statement into a nameless prefix term — variables renamed `v0, v1, …`, module paths dropped, operator spellings and binder keywords canonicalised, sorts mapped to `NAT`/`INT`/`TYPE`, Isabelle ascriptions unwrapped, Dedukti's explicit sort argument dropped — and hashes it (scheme `dk-shape-v1`). No dictionary is consulted on the identity path. Because some provers cannot state the same shape (Isabelle writes `lemma add_comm: "(x::nat) + y = y + x"` with no binders; Why3 uses `int` where the others use `nat`), a second tier is emitted: | field | meaning | |---|---| | `cross_prover_identity_key` | SHA-256 of the canonical shape, binders and sorts included | | `cross_prover_skeleton_key` | same shape with the binder prefix and sort atoms erased — the tier-2 join | | `identity_scheme` | which rules produced the keys (`dk-shape-v1`) | | `canonical_type` | the rendered shape, for debugging | | `cross_prover_id` | the old name-tail hash, still emitted for existing octads/clients | Validated against the fixtures before porting: Agda, Coq, Lean 4, Idris 2, SMT-LIB and Dedukti agree on `(PI [NAT NAT] (EQ (ADD v0 v1) (ADD v1 v0)))` for `add_comm`; Isabelle and Why3 join on `(EQ (ADD v0 v1) (ADD v1 v0))`; `add_zero` agrees across four provers; associativity and commutativity stay distinct. The unit tests pin all of it. Equational rewriting is deliberately *not* applied — `x + y` and `y + x` are different keys. ### 2. The Vector octad is 256-dim and structural `StructuralEmbedder` hashes 1–3-grams of the canonical atom stream into 256 buckets (model `echidna-corpus-structural-v2`), replacing the 32-dim raw-text `HashEmbedder` as the default. `corpus near` canonicalises the query too, so a query written in SMT-LIB syntax retrieves entries written in Coq syntax (tested). `HashEmbedder` stays as `Corpus::compute_embeddings_legacy` for GNN `FEATURE_DIM` parity and for replaying older octads; the capnp `embedder` / `embedder_dim` fields carry both and consumers are told to check them. New CLI: `echidna corpus identity <pattern> [--skeleton] [--cross-only]`. ### 3. Carried fixes from earlier in the branch * `estate_layers.rs::adapter_of_layer` only names layers that actually have an adapter (`creusot-core` is not `spark_ada`). * The SPARK adapter test asserts `SPARK_Mode` rather than the bare `SPARK` the parser emits; the profile/creusot adapter tests no longer depend on the checkout layout. * `cargo fmt` applied (bot commit — this branch is prepared without a local Rust toolchain, so formatting is done in CI). ### 4. Honesty pass over docs, ADR, wiki `docs/CORPUS.adoc`, `docs/architecture/VERISIM-ER-SCHEMA.adoc`, `docs/handover/STATE.adoc`, `CLAUDE.md`, `CHANGELOG.adoc`, the 2026-04-28 ADR (annotated as superseded in part) and the wiki source pages (`docs/wikis/{Home,Architecture}.md`) now describe what the code actually does — 20 adapters, 256-dim structural embeddings, two-tier identity. New ADR: `docs/decisions/2026-10-22-structural-cross-prover-identity.adoc`. ## Notes for the reviewer * `DeclGraph`, `GraphPayload` and `QueryResultEntry` gained fields; all are `#[serde(default)]`, so existing octad JSONL still loads. * The 32-dim embedder is not deleted: dropping it would break GNN parity and old octads. * `.github/workflows/zz-fmt.yml` is temporary scaffolding for this branch (no local toolchain) and is removed in a follow-up commit; it has no `uses:` steps because newly added workflows in this repo fail at startup when they reference an action. * Python: none added — the canonicaliser prototype lived outside the tree and the Rust module is the artefact of record. --------- Signed-off-by: Jonathan D.A. Validation
CI is the authority here: this branch was prepared in an environment with no
Rust toolchain, so the compile, clippy, fmt and test runs below are all CI's.
rust-ci / Cargo check + clippy + fmt— pass (cargo check --locked --workspace --all-targets,cargo fmt --all -- --check,cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets -D warnings).rust-ci / Cargo test— pass, whole workspace.rust-ci / llvm-cov line coverage,rust-ci / Cargo audit (security)— pass.cargo test -p echidna-core-creusot— pass, so thePO-L1..L5 classification tests in
estate_layers.rshold.Boot Gate(builds the binary and boots it),MVP Smoke,Proof safety regressions,scan / gitleaks,scan / rust-secrets,scan / shell-secrets,CodeQL— pass.and 18 fixtures (
scripts/lexicon-check.shitself needs Nickel, which cannot be fetched here). Two things were fixed because CI caught them, rather than being assumed:
adapter_of_layerused to name a corpus adapter for the Zig, Julia, Chapel and BEAMlayers. No such adapter exists, so the round-trip invariant was asserting a mapping
that was not true; those layers now return
Noneand the test says so.profile::tests::rules_resolve_repositories_on_diskread the checkout, so it onlypassed when the clone directory happened to be called
echidna. It now builds thetree it means to test.
T1 Guix manifest checkstill fails, at its Install Guix step — before the.scmis ever read — on this branch and on
mainalike; that job is infra, not this change.Notes for review
The branch also carried temporary diagnostics workflows (a workflow that references an
action cannot be added to this repo without failing at startup, so they ran without
uses:and published their output elsewhere). They are deleted in the last commit;they had tripped the Hypatia baseline gate by posting outside the runner.
