Summary

  • java-11/java.version and java-21/java.version switched to Azul's CDN filename format (e.g. zulu11.92.109-ca-jdk11.0.33) as part of fix: bump Zulu to 11.0.33 / 21.0.13 for eMudhra blocklist (CVE-2026-91403) #56, which broke publish.yml's cut-based version parsing.
  • As a result, the latest release (0.3.18) published hypertrace/java:zulu11 / hypertrace/java:zulu11.92.109 instead of updating the expected hypertrace/java:11 tag, and the "full version" tag no longer reflected the real OpenJDK patch version (it resolved to the Zulu build number 11.92.109 instead of 11.0.33).
  • This fixes JAVA_MAJOR_VERSION/JAVA_FULL_VERSION extraction to strip the zulu prefix and pull the real OpenJDK version out of the ca-jdk segment when present, while staying backward compatible with the old <jdk-version>-<zulu-build> format.

Test plan

  • Verified the new parsing logic locally against both the old (11.0.32.1-11.90) and new (zulu11.92.109-ca-jdk11.0.33) java.version formats — confirmed JAVA_MAJOR_VERSION=11 and JAVA_FULL_VERSION=11.0.33 / 11.0.32.1 respectively.
  • Confirm a subsequent release run publishes hypertrace/java:11 and hypertrace/java:11.0.33 as expected.

…Zulu build number

The java.version format changed to Azul's CDN filename style (e.g.
zulu11.92.109-ca-jdk11.0.33), which broke the cut-based parsing: it
produced tags like hypertrace/java:zulu11 and
hypertrace/java:zulu11.92.109 instead of updating hypertrace/java:11,
and JAVA_FULL_VERSION no longer matched the actual OpenJDK patch
version consumers expect (e.g. 11.0.33).
