Reverts the premature merge of #419 (f79888a). The architecture PR was still intended to remain draft, with each foundation landing alongside its first real consumer; #511 supplied that consumer only for SourceRegistry.
Retains #511, #514, #515, #520, and #523, including the composed Tiles SourceRegistry and GPU encoder fixes. The resulting Git tree is identical to 6ff0440, main immediately before #419; that tree was validated by all 19 passing checks on the integrated GPU PR. Verified exact Git tree identity and a clean diff check. No live app restart or diagnostic-file changes.
