IPRally for Cursor

Search and analyze the global patent literature with IPRally's patent engine.

This is the Cursor plugin for the IPRally MCP server. It adds IPRally's examiner-trained patent search to Cursor as a remote MCP connector. The plugin is a thin package: it points Cursor at the hosted IPRally MCP server. Authentication uses a browser OAuth flow on install.

What it does

• Search by AI similarity. Describe an invention or give a publication number, and get the most similar patents ranked by relevance.
• Search by exact Boolean constraints. Answer portfolio, landscape, and count questions.
• Retrieve full patent documents. Read the bibliography, claims, and specification for deep review.

Together these cover the core patent workflows: prior-art and invalidity searches, novelty checks, freedom-to-operate reviews, and competitor and landscape analysis. The connector ships built-in guidance for these workflows.

Requirements

An IPRally account with MCP access enabled. See iprally.com.

Install

Install from the Cursor Marketplace, or add the remote server directly to your Cursor MCP configuration:

On first use Cursor runs the OAuth flow and stores your credentials.
