I am an applied mathematician and scientific programmer with a background in fluid dynamics, statistical physics, nonlinear waves, and turbulence. My work uses mathematical modelling and numerical simulation to study classical and quantum fluids, vortex dynamics, and nonlinear optical systems.
I previously worked in academia as a Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at Aston University. I maintain the public repositories below as open research software, learning resources, and a record of my computational work.
| Project | Description | Format / technologies |
|---|---|---|
| 2dPointVortex | Two-dimensional point-vortex dynamics in the infinite plane, a periodic box, and a circular disk | C++20, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA |
| 2dNavierStokes | Dealiased pseudo-spectral solver for two-dimensional Navier–Stokes turbulence | C++20, FFTW, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA |
| 2dGrossPitaevskii | Pseudo-spectral Gross–Pitaevskii/nonlinear Schrödinger solver for Bose–Einstein condensates and nonlinear optics | C++20, FFTW, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA |
| 1dSchrodingerHelmholtz | Dealiased pseudo-spectral solver for the one-dimensional Schrödinger–Helmholtz equation, its long-wave limit, and the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation | C++20, FFTW, OpenMP |
| GermanVerbBook | An evolving German grammar and verb-reference book developed as part of my German-learning journey | LaTeX |
The research-software projects stem from numerical codes developed during my academic research. The multidimensional projects include backends for a single CPU, multiple CPUs, or an NVIDIA GPU with CUDA. The one-dimensional projects remain bound to CPU usage only due to ineffectiveness of parallalisation. Each project also includes analysis and plotting tools.
