Walkthrough

The non-streaming responses handler now passes a maximum request-size limit into response validation. It uses the default limit unless a customization provides a different value.

The handler selects the default request-size limit or the configured customization value. It passes the selected limit in the validation context.

This change is meant to enforce a maximum request size, but the configured limit is applied to the outgoing response rather than the incoming request. Oversized requests therefore do not get the configured limit, and the feature does not work as intended. Move the limit to request validation before merging.

Full details: Performance And Algorithmic Complexity

Explanation

PASSED. The diff adds one constant/customization lookup and passes a validation context to the existing ResponsesResponse.model_validate call at src/app/endpoints/responses.py:1508-1522. It adds no loop, per-item query, API call, regex compilation, cache, watcher, buffer, or list operation. The response model has no size validator that performs additional traversal, so the change does not introduce a meaningful performance regression.

Full details: Security And Secret Handling

Explanation

PASSED. The pull request changes only src/app/endpoints/responses.py to select RESPONSES_REQUEST_MAX_SIZE or the configured integer limit and pass it as validation context. It does not add plaintext secrets, logging of sensitive values, injection paths, or response data. The endpoint retains @authorize(Action.RESPONSES) and Depends(get_auth_dependency()). No Kubernetes Secret or RH secret resources changed.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Apply the limit during request validation.

responses_request_max_size is read by ResponsesRequest.validate_body_size, but this call validates a ResponsesResponse. By this point, the handler already has a validated request. A configured request-size limit therefore cannot take effect through this call. Pass the selected limit when validating the raw request, before response processing starts.
