I'm Mahan, a mathematics and computer science enthusiast.
I'm a Mathematics Olympiad Gold Medalist and a Computer Science enthusiast with a background spanning software engineering, systems, electronics, robotics, and mathematics.
Outside of programming, I teach and mentor mathematics olympiad students, develop educational resources, and enjoy exploring topics that sit somewhere between mathematics, engineering, and computer science.
My interests are pretty scattered, but they tend to revolve around building things and understanding systems.
- π Python, C#, and C++ are my main programming languages
- ποΈ I work with SQL and databases in my projects
- π I use web technologies when I need to build interfaces, prototypes, or test applications
- π I use Bash/Linux scripting to automate repetitive tasks
- π§ I'm a big fan of Linux, networking, and systems
- π I work with electronics, Arduino, and digital logic
- π€ I build and experiment with robotics projects
- π I use CAD and 3D design to design parts before building them
- π¨οΈ I have a 3D printer and use it extensively for hardware and electronics projects
- π§ Arch Linux as my daily driver. My configurations live in
.dotfiles - π Neovim as my main editor
- π VS Code when I need it
- π FreeCAD for mechanical design
- π οΈ A constantly evolving collection of software, hardware, and questionable experiments
I've worked on projects ranging from software to hardware and systems engineering.
A few highlights include:
- π» An unofficial Adobe Connect client for Linux, used by 1400+ university students
- π Contributions to open-source Linux and customization projects
- π¦ A COVID neighborhood tracking and spatial-analysis platform
- π Various electronics, robotics, and fabrication projects
- π Educational tools and infrastructure for mathematics olympiad students
