Enable the existing test suite to run on Windows without duplicating tests.

  • Runner: Execute tests with Bash and pass program paths in POSIX format.
  • Line endings: Keep .test files in LF format.
  • CI: Add a windows-latest UCRT64 MSYS2 job with the required tools and existing test command.
subprocess.run(["bash", "-c", command], ...)

The logs showed that MinGW created eaf.exe while the runner checked eaf. I updated regtest.py to resolve the .exe suffix on Windows before the executable check. Committed as e6557d1.

@copilot Still not working. The tests print the message: windows subsystem for linux has no installed distributions. you can resolve this by installing a distribution with the instructions below:

The runner was selecting Windows’ bash.exe (the WSL launcher) instead of MSYS2 Bash. I updated it to use the MSYS2 Bash path derived from the UCRT64 Python interpreter. Committed as 7ec8f40. The new workflow run is awaiting approval, so this fix is not yet confirmed by CI.

@copilot still not working. It seems a problem with joblib.

@copilot still not working. It seems a problem with joblib.

The Windows logs showed joblib’s loky resource tracker failing during shutdown. I switched Windows runs to joblib’s thread backend while keeping process workers on other platforms. Committed as 17d6193; the updated Windows workflow is awaiting approval, so CI confirmation is pending.

@copilot still fails. See the log here: https://productionresultssa11.blob.core.windows.net/actions-results/8a837600-688b-877c-bf63-10e4d6e98c4d/workflow-job-run-d88f0426-0152-53fd-bf81-4c1cc015482d/l...

The linked log showed a UnicodeEncodeError when Rich printed the ✓ pass marker to Windows’ non-UTF-8 stdout; joblib only propagated that exception. I set PYTHONIOENCODING=utf-8 for the Windows job in commit a51ca69. The new run is awaiting approval, so CI confirmation is still pending.
