Post-release development version bump after OpenEnv 0.12.0 (release PR #1544, tag v0.12.0). Changes only the openenv version line in pyproject.toml, envs/grid_world_env/uv.lock and tests/validation_runtime/uv.lock. Opened by hand because the Open post-release bump PR job in publish-pypi.yml fails on the Actions PR-creation policy.

Note

Low Risk
Version metadata only; no application logic, dependencies, or security-sensitive code is modified.

Overview
Bumps the openenv package from 0.12.0 to 0.12.1.dev0 so the repo reflects the usual post-release development line after v0.12.0.

The version string is updated in pyproject.toml and in the editable openenv entries in envs/grid_world_env/uv.lock and tests/validation_runtime/uv.lock. No runtime or API changes.

Alignment Review Report

Automated Checks

  • Lint: FAIL (pre-existing, unrelated to this diff) - usort/ruff were not runnable until uv was installed; once run, ruff format --check reports 47 files needing reformatting repo-wide, none of which are touched by this PR. This diff only edits pyproject.toml and two uv.lock files (not linted targets), so it introduces zero new lint issues.
  • Debug code: FOUND, but pre-existing - check-debug.sh flags print()/console.print() usage across src/openenv/cli/, src/openenv/harbor/, and docstring examples, plus two TODO comments. All of these predate this PR; the diff contains no new debug code.

Change Summary

This PR changes exactly 3 files, each a single-line version string bump:

  • pyproject.toml: 0.12.0 → 0.12.1.dev0
  • envs/grid_world_env/uv.lock: pinned openenv version 0.12.0 → 0.12.1.dev0
  • tests/validation_runtime/uv.lock: pinned openenv version 0.12.0 → 0.12.1.dev0

This matches the established post-release pattern used after every prior release (e.g. 0.9.0→0.9.1.dev0, 0.10.0→0.10.1.dev0, 0.11.0→0.11.1.dev0), per the Breaking Change Policy in INVARIANTS.md (pre-1.0, dev-suffix bump after a tagged release). No behavior, API, or dependency changes are introduced.

Open RFCs Context

For completeness, RFCs currently in Draft/In Review:

  • 000 (In Review), 001 (In Review), 002 (In Review), 003 (In Review), 005 (In Review), 006 (In Review), 008 (In Review), 012 (In Review), 014 (In Review) - all In Review
  • 010, 011 - Draft

None of these RFCs govern versioning/release mechanics, and this diff does not touch any area they cover (reward computation, MCP, harnesses, validation, world modeling, environment services, or catalog discovery).

Tier 1: Fixes Required

None - no lint or debug issues are introduced by this diff.

Tier 2: Alignment Discussion

Principle Conflicts

None identified. This is a mechanical version bump with no API, architecture, or behavioral changes.

RFC Conflicts

None identified.

Summary

  • 0 mechanical issues to fix
  • 0 alignment points for human review
  • 0 RFC conflicts to discuss

This is a clean, routine post-release version bump consistent with past releases. No concerns.
