Description

Add print columns to ClusterObjectSet so kubectl get clusterobjectset surfaces rollout state at a glance instead of requiring -o yaml.

New columns (in order): Ready · Reason · #Total · #Present · #Synced · #Ready · Age

  • Ready / Reason — the Ready condition's status and reason (e.g. AllObjectsReady, ObjectsNotReady, PreconditionsNotMet, Superseded, Archiving).
  • #Total / #Present / #Synced / #Ready — the aggregate status.objectCounts. The # prefix distinguishes the #Ready object count from the Ready condition-status column.
NAME READY REASON #TOTAL #PRESENT #SYNCED #READY AGE
argocd-operator-2 True AllObjectsReady 23 23 23 23 5m

Experimental API only; regenerated CRDs / manifests.

Note: the #Ready (and other count) columns render 0 correctly once #3020 merges (which marks the zero-valued count fields as always-serialized). Until then a zero count renders blank in the column.

  • New Features
    • kubectl output for ClusterObjectSet now displays the Ready condition’s reason and counts of total, present, synced, and ready objects.

Surface the Ready condition's reason and the aggregate object counts in
`kubectl get clusterobjectset` so rollout progress and blocked/precondition
state are visible at a glance. The object-count columns are prefixed with "#"
(#Total/#Present/#Synced/#Ready) to distinguish the #Ready object count from
the Ready condition status column.

📝 Walkthrough

The ClusterObjectSet printer now shows the Ready condition reason and the total, present, synced, and ready object counts. The API printer declaration and three CRD manifests contain these columns.

Changes: ClusterObjectSet printer columns

Layer / File(s) Summary
Add Ready reason and object-count columns
api/v1/clusterobjectset_types.go, helm/olmv1/base/object-controller/crd/experimental/olm.operatorframework.io_clusterobjectsets.yaml, manifests/experimental.yaml, manifests/experimental-e2e.yaml
The API printer declaration and CRD manifests add a Reason column and #Total, #Present, #Synced, and #Ready columns. The columns use the Ready condition reason and status.objectCounts fields.

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to a83ef

When inspecting ClusterObjectSets with kubectl, users will see blank Present, Synced, and Ready columns instead of 0 when those counts are zero. This is a bounded display issue, so merge risk is low.
