fix(errorTracker): capture request context and name empty-message errors - #4242
Server errors that reach the Express error handler now reach PostHog with method, endpoint and status code; an error with no message is named " " (type and stack kept).
Expected 4xx are no longer captured, by the handler or by the logger transport (which now honors the flag on non-Error values too).
The endpoint is the route pattern, or the path with secret segments redacted — one shared helper, also used by the analytics middleware.
Known limit (unchanged by this PR): behind a sub-express.Router() the endpoint loses the router's mount prefix; the stack itself mounts routes with app.route().
The Express error middleware now captures only server errors
(err.status || 500 >= 500, same rule as initErrorRoutes) and adds
method, endpoint (route pattern or redacted path) and statusCode to
the captured properties. An empty-message or non-Error value is
captured as an Error named "<METHOD> <endpoint> <status>". 4xx errors
are still flagged posthogCaptured so the Winston transport skips them.
The route redaction rule moves to redactRequestPath in
lib/helpers/redactUrl.js, shared with the analytics middleware.

Walkthrough
The Express error handler now captures only errors with status 500 or higher and adds request context to captured events. Endpoint paths use route patterns when available or redact sensitive path segments. The PostHog logger transport skips non-Error values already marked as captured.

Summary
Resolve and redact request endpoints lib/helpers/redactUrl.js, lib/helpers/tests/redactUrl.unit.tests.js, lib/middlewares/analytics.js
redactRequestPath returns a route pattern or a redacted concrete path without its query string. Analytics uses the helper for its tracked endpoint. Tests cover route patterns, base URLs, fallback paths, and empty paths.
Capture server errors with request context lib/services/errorTracker.js, lib/services/tests/errorTracker.unit.tests.js, MIGRATIONS.md
The Express error handler captures errors with status 500 or higher and adds method, endpoint, status, user ID, and request ID to the event. It synthesizes a message for empty-message errors and passes the original error downstream. Tests and the migration note cover the updated behavior.
Skip duplicate capture of marked errors lib/services/logger.posthog.transport.js, lib/services/tests/logger.posthog.transport.unit.tests.js, lib/services/tests/logger.posthog.transport.integration.tests.js
The transport skips capture when a non-Error info.error value is marked as already captured. Tests cover marked and unmarked values.
Resolve endpoint redaction before merging: case-variant secret paths can expose tokens when error tracking is enabled, and downstream parameterized router mounts introduce another disclosure path. Narrow the documentation to the implemented empty-message behavior.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #4241 requires request method, query-free route context, status code, readable names for empty messages, and no capture for expected 4xx errors. setupExpressErrorHandler now applies the status filter, builds method, redacted endpoint, and statusCode properties, and names empty-message or non-Error captures from those values while preserving an available name and stack. The added handler tests cover empty-message, non-Error, 4xx, matched-route, and secret-redaction cases. The transport changes and tests prevent duplicate capture for flagged non-Error values.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes remain connected to #4241. redactRequestPath provides the required endpoint value and replaces duplicate endpoint logic in analytics. The transport change prevents duplicate PostHog events for errors handled by Express, including non-Error values. The related unit and integration tests and the migration note document the changed capture behavior. No unrelated implementation is demonstrated.

Cover plain-object 4xx flagging in the errorTracker suite.
The handler at lib/services/errorTracker.js:83 sets posthogCaptured on every object error, including 4xx errors. No unit test sends a plain-object 4xx through the handler. The non-Error test uses status 502, and the 4xx test uses an Error instance. A change that flags plain-object errors only when status >= 500 would pass the current suite. That plain-object 404 would reach the logger transport unflagged. If the error is later logged, the transport can capture it, which breaks the expected-4xx suppression. Add this test after the 4xx test at lib/services/tests/errorTracker.unit.tests.js:276-285.

The test at lib/services/tests/logger.posthog.transport.integration.tests.js:64-67 sets posthogCaptured on its input and calls logger.error. It does not reach the handler, so its name should state what it checks. For example, rename it to non-Error error object marked posthogCaptured is skipped by the transport.

Errorfailures now receive useful request context. Already captured errors are not captured again by the logging transport.api_requestevents for dashboards and alerts that rely on 4xx exceptions.
