Intentionally supersede the planned, unreleased and before-tag sentences introduced by e81072d. Apply the same 22 dated-release wording substitutions and paired tag links. Preserve historical pre-tag versions and observations, facts, policy, adapter warnings, parser reasons and diagnostic limits. The reanchor and this message clarification do not change the reviewed documentation tree. Date the paired 1.4.0 release documentation for 2026-10-08 and replace current planned-release wording with the final tag links. Preserve pre-tag validation versions, historical samples, the UTC scoreboard promotion date, diagnostic qualifications and the adapter warning about possible trade/report/hash changes.
This is one documentation commit on the landed release notes: six Markdown files, 22 substitutions, 39 added and 38 removed lines. Source, tests, VERSION and release workflows are unchanged. The rebased tree is identical to the tree approved by both independent dating reviews.

The other substitutions make staging descriptions historical or describe the released pair; the complete 22 changes are the request diff. The three dated links are README lines 41 and 672 and public-contract line 31. Preserve the separate 2026-10-07 UTC promotion date.
Validation: documentation history, lint, 1,744 anchors, 72 facts markers, historical-content preservation and exact substitution checks passed. Fresh preflight/documentation verification is bound to the rebased head before merge.
Hold landing for the coordinated 30-minute release notice window immediately before dispatch. If dispatch moves to another day, update the nine date-bearing lines and three links together and review the new tree. This request does not establish that release artifacts have been published.
