📝 Why & how

Adds react-native-blur-overlay, a native blur overlay for iOS and Android. As of 3.1.0 it provides:

  • Liquid Glass on both platforms from one prop (blurMode="glass"): the system UIGlassEffect on iOS 26+, and a matching refracting AGSL lens on Android 13+.
  • Live blur on Android 12+: content scrolling behind the overlay stays blurred, as it always has on iOS.
  • Blur behind a <Modal> on Android through the system window blur.

It supports the New Architecture (Fabric, via Codegen) and the legacy architecture. It works in Expo development builds and prebuild, verified on Expo SDK 57, but not in Expo Go, so expoGo is omitted. newArchitecture is left to automatic detection, per the guidelines.

✅ Checklist

  • Added library to react-native-libraries.json
