Development considerations

Build with JDK 25 and Maven; set IntelliJ IDEA's Project SDK and language level to 25. Run mvn clean test to compile and test the project.

Installer builds bundle Temurin 25, prepared by scripts/prepare_jdks.py. Temurin 25 no longer ships jmods inside the JDK archive, so the script also downloads the matching jmods package. JavaPackager needs that directory to build the bundled runtime. If you previously prepared JDK 21, or a JDK 25 cache without jmods, refresh it before packaging:

python3 scripts/prepare_jdks.py --targets all --force

You can replace all with mac-arm64, mac-x64, windows-x64, or linux-x64 for a single target.

Before your first start, set the IntelliJ IDEA as below, then maven clean:
