Compiles rsloop's Rust asyncio event loop (pyo3/maturin, per-interpreter, rustls with aws-lc-rs) into one extension per interpreter. Upstream publishes no riscv64 wheel.

Mirrors upstream's wheels.yml and the test-supported-pythons job of tests.yml.

Differs from upstream

  • dnf install openssl - the CLI generates the TLS fixtures tests/test_tls.py needs
  • Nightly read from rust-toolchain.toml - upstream pins the same channel in its workflow

Testing

  • same as upstream (scripts/run_python_tests.py with the test dependency group)
  • tests, scripts, benches, examples staged - tests import benchmark and example modules

License: OK

Queued at 0.1.46; 0.1.64 is the current release. Locally on x86_64 cp312: 513 passed, 130 skipped, 2 failed (IPv6-only tests; the sandbox has no IPv6).

The cp312 job failed test_client_config_cache_reuses_and_invalidates with
"peer closed connection without sending TLS close_notify" from
wait_closed(). close() shuts the socket down in both directions after
sending close_notify, which wakes the TLS reader worker with EOF before
the peer's close_notify may arrive; the reader then reports an error for
a transport the caller closed itself. Report connection_lost(None) for
read failures once the transport is closing, as asyncio does.
