The archive listed and headed records by ID and class name only, so finding the right org or person meant opening rows one by one. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
A purchase, its artwork, and the exhibit that showed it all carried the same title, and one person's payment, registration, and volunteer shift all read as just their name — so names alone couldn't tell records apart. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The cards and related-records list showed bare FileMaker IDs, so admins had to open each one to see what it was; the decorators also rebuilt org and project names by hand. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
An ID field showed the ID as the value with the name trailing in gray; putting the ID beside the label and linking the name reads like the rolodex contact rows. Resolving targets in one place also fixes payment RefIDs never linking (their prefix map was misnamed) and note pages linking every field by Context instead of just LinkID. 🤖 suggested review level: 3 Read 📖 a name method per archive model, plus showing it where archive pages listed bare IDs
FileMaker archive pages now show each record's name instead of just an ID. Each table words its names its own way, so admins can tell a purchase from the artwork it bought.
Names
Fm*model defines#name.FmArchivesupplies the helpers (fm_value,fm_dollars,fm_phrase…) and the FM ID fallback.subject — detail, e.g.After the Rain — purchased for $250,Aisha Sharma — Payment of $6,000.Where names show
OrgID) now match the phone/address rows: ID beside the label, the record's name as the link, "Not found in FM data" when missing. Both sharefm_archive_id_tag/fm_archive_summary_tag.nameinstead of readingOrgName/ProjectNamedirectly.Fixes found along the way
RefIDnever linked: the model's prefix map was namedREFID_PREFIX_MAP, but the view looked forPREFIX_LINK_MAP.Context, not justLinkID.FmArchive#reference_tablenow resolves a polymorphic field only whenFM_LINKSmaps it to nil.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
