[Bug]: Data Saver icon not being hidden on statusbar + possible workaround #1353
Data Saver icon is not being hidden in the statusbar even though the icon is disabled on statusbar icons. This is probably a Google issue with their new update but wasn't sure if there was any fix or workaround.
Steps to Reproduce
Go to Statusbar icons
Disable Data Saver
Look at statusbar and find Data Saver still shown
Expected Behavior
Data Saver icon is meant to be hidden but issues have caused it to still be shown.
Screenshots
Android Version
Android 17 QPR1 Beta
Device
Google Pixel 6 Pro
App Version
19.0
Additional Context
A possible workaround would be adding an 'Essentials Statusbar' feature that would replace the battery and icons on the statusbar and would show battery and icons while being able to hide certain ones or add custom ones. Not sure if this is possible or feasible but could be a possibility.
The only way to hide it is to disable all system icons option with shizuku. and no, the custom statusbar won't work as we can not detect the color behind the statusbar to dynamically adjust it's color for contrast like Android does.
