Hi, I'm Sandrine πŸ‘‹

Nature Γ— Technology
From web mapping to wildlife tech.

Observe β†’ Test β†’ Measure β†’ Document β†’ Improve

🌿 About me

I'm interested in technology when it solves a real-world problem.

After a background in web development and web mapping, I'm getting back into hands-on technical projects through Linux, Raspberry Pi, Python, networking and IoT.

My main playground is now nature observation: building tools that can actually be tested, measured and eventually deployed in the field.

Program or be programmed ⁉️ 😏

πŸ¦… Current project

I'm currently designing an autonomous camera system for long-term wildlife observation.

The project combines:

  • Raspberry Pi 5
  • Linux
  • Python
  • IP camera & PoE
  • Networking
  • 4G connectivity
  • Local SSD storage
  • Power monitoring
  • Solar power
  • Reliability testing

Before deploying anything in the field, I'm building a 72-hour test bench to measure the real system rather than relying only on theoretical estimates.

The project is being documented from architecture and hardware choices to tests, failures and results.

πŸ”¬ How I work

I like projects where I can understand the whole chain:

Need β†’ Architecture β†’ Prototype β†’ Measure β†’ Diagnose β†’ Improve

Not just making something work β€” understanding why it works.

πŸ—Ί Previous technical background

My previous projects explored web development and web mapping with:

JavaScript Β· TypeScript Β· Node.js Β· React Β· Vue.js Β· Angular Β· OpenLayers Β· REST APIs Β· SQL

Some of these repositories remain here as an archive of that learning journey.

Particularly close to my current interests are my OpenLayers projects: mapping, geographic data and field-oriented applications still make a lot of sense to me today.

🌱 Outside the keyboard

Nature observation is one of the reasons I build things in the first place.

Technology is the tool. The field is the destination.
