Records the evidence for Establish whether Claude Code's direct stream-json transport emits reasoning summaries, and under which setting.
Seven isolated Claude Code 2.1.283 / Sonnet 4.6 runs establish summary enablement through showThinkingSummaries, display versus thinking-off controls, streamed and completed frames, absent titles, and the internal highlights fallback. The report compares these observations with Codex 0.155.0 generated app-server schemas and official documentation, and records model/provider/version limits. The Harness Seam event remains a separate decision.
Validation: reviewed primary sources and sanitized probe evidence; Prettier check and git diff --check pass. The canonical gate and release-consumer checks run in CI.
Merge with a merge commit so commit-pinned research links survive. Do not auto-close the research issue: its resolution, map index, and newly unblocked Starting context are published after merge.
