Each push ran 22 CI jobs. This drops the Python 3.10 jobs on macOS and Windows, leaving 20, and keeps Python 3.14 on both. Linux still tests every Python from 3.10 to 3.14, and the lint, Django, strict SQLite, import-without-Django and next-to-upstream jobs are unchanged.

Why:

  • In the last 40 runs, neither job ever failed where Linux passed. Every macOS failure was a runner that never started.
  • Today macOS jobs were cancelled six times in five runs with no runner assigned, which turned PRs and master red without testing anything. Fewer macOS and Windows jobs means fewer of those.
  • The protect-master ruleset requires no status checks, and ci-ok depends on the test job as a whole, so nothing waits on the removed jobs.
