Add Python and CLI recipes for populating a SpatiaLite point column from existing longitude/latitude columns. Cover coordinate order, matching SRIDs, inspecting the result, reloading the extension, and refreshing geometry after coordinate changes. The Python example also links to the existing WKT conversion and spatial-index documentation.
Refs #399. This documents the existing SQL workflow; it does not implement the proposed conversion API.
Validated on Linux/ARM64, Python 3.12, SpatiaLite 5.1: executed the literal examples, checked persisted X/Y/SRID, missing coordinates, updates, mismatched-SRID rollback, spatial indexing, and connection cleanup. Full tests: 1512 passed, 1 skipped. Strict Sphinx build, Cog, formatting, flake8, mypy and pyright passed.
tyreports one redundant-cast warning in unchangeddb.py; notebooks were skipped by Black because its optional Jupyter dependency is not installed. Other platforms were not run locally.AI disclosure: OpenAI Codex researched, wrote, reviewed, and tested this contribution. No human review is claimed.
