CORS error when using socket.io

Trying to connect using socket.io but in the bowser console it see this message on apache server.

Failed to load http://localhost:3000/socket.io/?EIO=3&transport=polling&t=MLeLFBF: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://localhost' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 404.
