A request can now be narrowed to visitors from chosen countries. countries on RollupRequest matches c_country exactly (c_country = 'GB' for one code, an IN list for several) and sits in narrowedTo beside host and paths. Every rollup, the visitor count stored beside it and both halves of each conversion factory select through rowsFor, so all of them take the narrowing from there. The command line takes it as a repeatable --country, upper-cased and refused unless it is a two-letter code. A stored summary records it in its question, a run naming no --country takes it from the summaries the way it takes --path, and a saved query's description says from visitors in GB or IE. The scheduled-summary test proves a Brazilian visitor leaves both the views and the visitor count of a GB-narrowed hour, and the conversion test proves the same for both halves of a rate. docs/rollups/ covers it, says bytes scanned are unchanged, and says a customer abroad or on a VPN is left out because CloudFront resolves the country from the address. The schedule payload and rollup-summary.ts are untouched (one comment in summary-run.ts now names countries among the optional fields).

Closes #207

  • Conventional commit message, used as the title
  • Conventional branch name, like feat/concise-description
  • Full check with pnpm run check passed
  • Rebased off latest main
  • User-facing behaviour is documented in docs/

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added country filtering for rollups, summaries, visitor counts, and conversion metrics using CloudFront’s two-letter country codes.
    • Supports repeated --country options and multiple countries in requests and saved queries.
    • Country values are normalized case-insensitively and validated before execution.
    • Country filters are reflected in query descriptions and summary comparisons.
  • Documentation

    • Documented country filtering behavior, supported commands, and restrictions.
    • Clarified that saved-query commands do not support --country.

A countries field on RollupRequest matches c_country exactly and sits in
narrowedTo beside host and paths, so every rollup, the visitor count and
both halves of a conversion rate take it through rowsFor. The command line
takes it as a repeatable --country, and a saved query's description names it.

📝 Walkthrough

Rollup requests now support country filters. The CLI accepts repeatable --country values, and rollup row filtering applies them to counts and conversion rates. Named queries and summaries also account for country filters.

Changes: Country Filtering

Layer / File(s) Summary
Country filter contract and rollup application
src/rollups.ts, src/rollup-rows.ts, src/rollups.test.ts, src/conversion-rollup.test.ts, docs/rollups/README.md
RollupRequest accepts country codes. Row filtering uses equality for one code, IN for multiple codes, and no country predicate for an empty list. Tests cover rollup and conversion counts. The documentation describes country filtering and stored-series behavior.
CLI country option and request parsing
src/cli/option-values.ts, src/cli/rollup-help.ts, src/cli/rollup-command-options.ts, src/cli/rollup-options.ts, src/cli/rollup-commands.test.ts
Rollup commands accept repeatable --country values. The parser trims and uppercases values, rejects codes that are not two uppercase letters after normalization, and adds valid codes to the request.
Saved queries and summary country matching
src/cdk/named-query-text.ts, src/cdk/rollup-queries.test.ts, src/cdk/rollup-summaries.test.ts, src/cli/summary-question.ts, src/cli/summary-narrowings.ts, src/cli/summary-answer.test.ts, src/cli/summary-help.ts, src/functions/summary-run.ts, src/cli/saved-query-help.ts, docs/command-line/README.md
Named query text includes country clauses. Summary questions compare and preserve country filters; tests cover scheduled summaries and summary reads. Help text documents summary filtering and saved-query restrictions.

A country-filtered summary may reject an equivalent request if the countries are supplied in a different order. This is a bounded issue with a workaround, so the change is mergeable with owner awareness.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #207 is directly linked and has coding requirements. The reviewed change adds optional RollupRequest.countries, applies it in narrowedTo with host and paths, and uses equality for one country and IN for several. rowsFor applies the narrowing to rollups, visitor counts, and both conversion-rate components. Rollup commands accept repeatable --country values and validate normalized two-letter codes. Tests cover CLI validation, saved query text, scheduled-summary inheritance, counts, visitor counts, and both conversion-rate halves. docs/rollups/ documents the filter, unchanged bytes scanned, and CloudFront country resolution.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes stay within Issue #207. Documentation, CLI help and parsing, summary propagation, query text, implementation, and focused tests directly support country narrowing for rollups and conversion rates. The changes do not implement the excluded country-exclusion list or crawler filtering from #208. The command-line documentation update correctly records unsupported options for saved-query commands.

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 91.67% which is sufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 12 functions across 18 files. (2 skipped: 2 unsupported.)

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The pull request description includes a clear change summary, links the issue with Closes #207, and addresses all required checklist items. The description is more detailed than the template requests, but it is complete and relevant.

Countries are a set, and GB IE selects the same rows as IE GB. Paths keep
their order, since the first of two overlapping paths is the one matchedPath
reports.
